They both lie as we all know now we have to try to figure out if Trump one of the worlds biggest liars is lying More then China or not.
With Trumps record for lying I am thinking he may be the one lying the most.

I have followed Trump closely for years, and I have never yet heard him lie to the American people. He is always truthful when it comes to his the policies he has said he will implement, even if he knows some of them will give him a lot of political grief.

When it come to the big, consequential affairs of government, Trump is ALWAYS straight - up and honest with the people.

If ever Trump does lie, it is in the context of nothing issues, that have no material bearing on his role as POTUS. Like his saying, for instance, that he didn't screw, Stormy Daniels when the fact is he almost certainly did. Stormy Daniels is a grubby, porn actress who specialises in anal. I'd deny having sex with her as well if I were POTUS for the simple reason that admitting it could have a very demoralising effect on the American public by dragging the office of President ITSELF into disrepute. Geddit, Anchovies ?

Trump is a well-known liar but the Chinese are not our friends. They'll lie too although they are clearly smarter about it than Trump.

It's in their best interest that Trump keeps hamstringing the US military, political clout and, mostly, our economy. Trump's tariff war works for them over the long run because it opens up a lot of markets around the world for them and causes all nations to distrust the United States.

Exactly, Trump’s bilateral understanding of trade is antiquated, while he is threatening the economy, China is out there extending their influence and working on multinational agreements

It is not a binary question, should there be tariffs on China, yes, but targeted tariffs, not blanket assessments
