Fla. shooting victims father: Trump must tell those making death threats against students to stop
The father of a student killed in the Florida school shooting is calling on President Trump to address the death threats that several Florida students and families have allegedly received in the wake of the shooting.
Fred Guttenberg, whose daughter Jaime was one of 17 killed at the school earlier this month, said in an interview on CNN that the president should put an end to the “additional trauma” the community is facing.
“A lot of folks want to talk about this as situational violence and threats that were ignored leading to it, so we can’t ignore what’s going on,” Guttenberg said. “I need President Trump today to address it publicly and demand that everyone who is making these threats stop.”
In the two weeks since police say 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz opened fire with an AR-15 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, killing 17 and injuring 14, the survivors have sparked national debate on guns and gun control policies.

One student said he left Facebook after “NRA cultists” sent him “graphic” death threats in response to his activism.
