I would agree if it were that simple. In fact, I've said the same exact thing, citing natural selection.

But these same morons who spat 'herd immunity' as the answer for a year, don't understand variants?

Is it possible that they are simply morons who parrot Hannity?

They are the Petri dish that will create variants that require new vaccines. Thankfully, mRNA technology is so advanced, it's easy to achieve. Unfortunately, production takes time. These are the same people who complained about the economy shutting down.

They're going to force another shut down.

I have done everything right fucker.....and I understood the dangers of SARS-COV2 before almost anyone else did....I came back to DP just to warn people...and for well over a month I was the only one on the alarms....I did it out of a sense of duty to the rest of you fucks.

Yep, it isn't that simple. I am now paying the price for their stupidity. In multiple ways. A breakthrough case of Covid. The inability to get a rapid test to confirm the diagnosis. The inability to get anywhere near an urgent care (they are full of unvaxxed morons). And now my kid has to quarantine and can't work, and I have to arrange care for my parents for at least the next two weeks. Hopefully they didn't get infected, they are both vaxxed, but very elderly.

And here in Florida, the Delta variant is everywhere, and spreading like wildfire. I have no idea how they can keep restaurants, bars, gyms and movie theaters open. I know I'm not going back any time soon. DeSantis is begging people to get vaccinated, but his anti-Fauci message is hindering those efforts to a huge degree. These people need to go to jail. But instead, the tards want DeSantis in the White House. I predict thousand will die in the next two to three months in Florida. I don't think anything can stop it. But God forbid we let businesses ask about your vaccination status. Because they cannot, many are going to close. It's a disaster, courtesy of the fucking brain dead Republicans.

It's terrible. You live in quite possibly the worst state right now. None of this was hard to predict. For someone like yourself who takes precautions to get infected, speaks to the strength of this variant.

For all the screaming about individual rights, why does nobody in the state have the right to remain Covid free? I'm sure you could get tested if you lived in a Blue state. DeSantis doesn't want any testing done for obvious reasons.

And the strength of the variant is the wild card in all this. It wasn't hard to predict what was going to happen here. And I really don't think there is anything that can stop it now. I think it's too late. Even if all the antivaxxers found religion, the cycle for being fully vaccinated is five weeks. Five weeks from now, it will be too late. Because DeSantis isn't going to allow mask mandates, or restrictions on restaurants and bars, or businesses to deny service to the unvaxxed. So what choice are these businesses going to have? Who's going to want to go to work in a crowded place with a bunch of unvaxxed morons. I think we are in for shutdowns, economic disaster, and thousands of deaths. I think it's now too late to prevent it. And we have the GOP, the right wing news media, and the anti-science idiots to thank for it. But we will all pay the price. But the worm is going to turn. The GOP is dead.

Does the governor have the power to dictate to private business? I don't think he can craft legislation that prevents businesses from requiring masks.
