Hello Darth,
Well again, that is NOT what the down ballot success of republicans indicates. If Trump AND Trumpism were rejected then there would be evidence of that in the election results. Trump would have been beat and Republicans would have lost a bunch of seats to democrats.
How do you explain that?
There is a lot of money to be made selling conspiracy theories. How much is Alex Jones worth for saying Sandy Hook never happened?
There is a lot of peer pressure for the uninformed to feel like they 'fit in' with crowds that listen to garbage propaganda radio instead of taking the time to get really well informed.
Ask any ten people on the street such a simple question as: " What are the three branches of government?"
Most of them cannot answer correctly.
But they are tasked with voting based on what little knowledge they have gleaned from listening to uninformed peers that they don't want to oppose or make waves in a small town.
Non-college working white males put in long hours to earn a good living. They don't have time to research the things they hear on the car radio to find out what's real and what's fake news. They simply turn it on for infotainment. They are not well informed by they feel an obligation to vote and 'be American.' It was all too easy to get caught up in the Trump fervor. And popular with the pick up truck crowd.
To most of them patriotism means putting a flag on the back of a pick up truck and shooting off fireworks every July 4th.
These people would have gladly voted for Trump again but Trump just messed up too bad. Trump lies so much he can't tell what lies people will buy and what they won't. He thought he could BS his way out of a deadly worldwide pandemic but it has backfired horribly. 4000 people are dying every day. Trump tried to say it would magically go away, that we only had 15 cases. People had enough. Many have lost relatives to his BS.
Trump also got the attention of many liberals and moderates who may not have voted at all otherwise, remaining out, but found him so distasteful they made up their minds to go vote against him. It is so extraordinary that Trump flipped Georgia blue. Georgia! That was amazing. Never thought I would see that. I would have expected Texas to flip before GA.
Also, Trump turned off many highly moral Republicans who actually voted for Biden, many saying it was the first time in their lives they ever voted for a Democrat.
Voters seemed to say they still like Republicans, but they don't think Trump really is one.
