The Founding Fathers put “with the Advice and Consent of the Senate” in the Constitution for a reason, it is why they felt checks and balances were important. It’s nuts to appoint one in charge of the nation’s security, intelligence, health, armed services, etc. without first vetting them
And with Trump, once the precedent is set, the floodgates open up, he is just removing another guard rail the Founders put there to prevent absolutism
