Well, of course.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday sought to justify a broad, open-ended war on Iran, offering his most extensive public comments yet on an operation whose stated aims and timeline have shifted since it began over the weekend.

Trump said the U.S. sought to make a deal with Iran after bombing three of its nuclear sites in June 2025, but Iran "rejected every opportunity to renounce their nuclear ambitions, and we can't take it anymore."

Trump, who was back at the White House after a weekend in Florida, said the U.S. and Israeli air attacks that began on Saturday had been projected to last four to five weeks but could go on longer. The military campaign has killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, sunk at least 10 Iranian warships and struck more than 1,000 targets.

"We're already substantially ahead of our time projections. But whatever the time is, it's okay. Whatever it takes," Trump said at his first public event since the conflict began.

He made no mention of regime change, saying the fight was needed to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, which Tehran denies seeking, and to thwart its long-range ballistic missile program.

Trump offers no substantiation for his ridiculous claims. Iran was deeply involved in negotiations to end their nuke program, assuming they had one. Trump said he completely destroyed it. They put a very good proposal, similar to Obama's deal, on the table. Trump responded with a late-night sneak attack.

Trump seems to be saying he attacked because Bibi wanted him to. That is horrible. he is killing many people.
This was a fight coming.

Iran wants to take out Israel.

Period. No discussion.
Israel wants to obliterate Iran , no dispute allowed. Iran was not attacking Israel. Guess who is attacking?

Israel wants Iran to stay in Iran, period.

Iran has fueled war against Israel and the world ever since the overthrow of the Shah, Nordberg.
They know what Israel is, an aggressive land-grabbing state that has been expanding since its inception. They have abused the people who were there when they got power. They fueled the hate. If they had treated Palestinians as equals and given them an opportunity, this mess would not have happened. The latest Palestinian war was designed to wipe them out and seize their land. Iran was helping those who deserved it and needed it. It was not just Iran helping them.

Yeah, I know.

First it was "an imminent threat". Then trump realized he said he'd "totally eradicated" the nuclear program.

Then it was - "well Israel was going to strike and we knew Iran would retaliate so we were drawn into the war". Marco made that claim, then when trump didn't like it, he had to change that story too.

What's clear now is that this was a war of choice, and that we haven't learned from our past boondoggles in the mideast.

trump doesn't care about losses of blood and treasure. He's just trying to secure a legacy for himself of something, anything heroic.

Stop that nonsense. The Palestinians did not want to share with the Jews. Period.

They and the Jews go a fair deal, but neither side accepted it.

Now the Palestinians have more than they deserve.

Greater Israel! Jewish Jerusalem. No right of return.

Netanyahu has admitted this 'imminent threat' project to get Iran attacked has been his 40 year goal.

It just needed a weak and gullible enough POTUS to do it.

He, and the military complex, beat the same drum until they attacked Iraq with the WMD imminent threat and another dumb GOP POTUS fell for it.

Because he cant tell the truth....the goal is to kill Iranians and destroy Iran......Netanyahu has told the truth but he only does this in Hebrew.

I have long been hearing that Netanyahu talks very differently in Hebrew and in English, that he assumes that Americans are too stupid to track what he says in Hebrew.....and that he has mostly been right.

Stop that. They didn't want to be ghettoihttps://www.jerusalemstory.com/en/article/new-checkpoints-gates-and-procedures-paralyze-palestinian-mobility-across-west-bankzed and have to go through a series of checkpoints and police to go anywhere. They were being abused and sometimes shot for no reason. I expected the Jews experience in WW2 would have taught them something. Thet went Nazi instead of opening their hearts. There are lots of people in Israel who objected to over half a century of mistreatment of a people. The Palestinians deserved equality.
