Trump suffers another geography fail after calling Alaska ‘Russia’ as he rants ahead of Putin meeting: ‘Leningrad free’

After all @FastLane we all remember how you guys treated Biden calling the French Prime Minister Mitterrand as a big deal as a sign of dementia can be the person going back in time and recalling people or things from their past and thinking they are in the their present just like this...

Surely @Damocles will rant on about this clear sign of cognitive decline too. Amiright?

Trump is just punking Putin .

Two days after he twice said he was 'going to Russia' for his Alaska summit with Vladimir Putin, President Donald Trump used a Soviet-era name to describe Russia’s second-largest city as he attacked a former adviser on social media.

Writing on Truth Social to complain about “very unfair media” coverage of his upcoming summit with the Russian president, he said the press would even go so far to say he’d made a “bad deal” even if he reached an agreement for the United States to acquire “Moscow and Leningrad” without giving up anything in return.

The president appeared to be unaware of one small detail: The city he called “Leningrad” is actually called St. Petersburg and has been since city residents voted to ditch the Soviet-era name in June 1991.

It was the second embarrassing geographic mix-up in three days for Trump, who on Monday also appeared to forget that the site of his sit-down with Putin (a former deputy mayor of St. Petersburg) is happening on sovereign American territory in the state of Alaska.

Thread title is a BLATANT LIE; TRUMP EVER CALLED ALASKA "RUSSIA"

Do you EVER NOT LIE?

This might not have been an error....unintended...some on my grapevine think that Alaska is part of a package deal.....that it has already been decided that Trump is going to Russia......that Trump said this on purpose.

We shall see. I still remember that Obama said he had visited 58 states and the only two he hadn't gone to were Alaska and Hawai'i... I wonder where all the folks that say that he's just too dementia addled to know what he's saying were when Obama was blurting out nonsense.

It's possible that the plan is to actually meet him somewhere in Russia, but say that he's going to Alaska... and he just decided to stop "saying"... but I don't know if we'd really know. Or maybe he's just planning on looking at Russia from Tina Fey's house in Alaska... She did say that she could see Russia from her house. Maybe it's a sign of dementia.

“This is a tragic emergency, and it’s embarrassing for me to be up here,” Trump told reporters. “You know, I’m going to see Putin. I’m going to Russia on Friday. I don’t like being up here, talking about how unsafe and how dirty and disgusting this once-beautiful capital [is].”

Trump is not going to Russia, but rather to Alaska to meet with Putin. He is set to meet with the Russian president to discuss bringing an end to the war in Ukraine that Russia initiated when it invaded the sovereign nation in February 2022.

Trump has been doing this thing lately "I have no idea what is going on" which is 100% at least in part his effort to be underestimated....a core part of his philosophy of winning deals.
