New York attorney general Letitia James spoke outside the court before the hearing. She said she expected Trump to “engage in name-calling and taunts and race-baiting, and call this a witch hunt”.

James said the former president has “repeatedly and consistently misrepresented and inflated the value of his assets.”

“But at the end of the day, the only thing that matters are the facts and the numbers - and numbers, my friends, don’t lie.”

The judge, Arthur F. Engoron, turned to Trump after he gave a lengthy answer and said he’d like to move things along, telling Trump, “Please, just answer the question. No speeches.” Trump smirked.

Despite that, Trump just said that the judge will probably rule against him, because he always rules against him. The judge turns to Trump’s lawyer, Kise, and asks if that was necessary. Kise takes the opportunity to note that Trump is the former and possibly the future president of the United States.

He has just asked Trump's attorneys: "Can you control your client?"

Trump says he became president 'because of my brand'
Trump’s approach to defending himself against accusations that he over-valued real estate is interesting, to say the least. Trump said that if he wanted to inflate his assets on financial statements, he could have done it just by using his name.

“The most valuable asset was the brand value,” he said. “If you look at the companies, the brand value is a very big part of the asset value of the company.”

A statement of 'neither myself nor my kids as officers or Fiduciaries, take any responsibility for the Financials we signed as we just 'trusted' the accountants is what equals guilt.

They are so dumb, they do not realize that is equal to pleading guilty to corporate fraud, and a reason to have your businesses shut down.

And yet Letisha already debunked this, as she shows in Trump Filed Statements that they specifically DID add in a Brand Premium on his assets when they were looking to bump up the value. it is right in the statements as a line item of specific attributed value, and yet Trump still says they did not include his brand value.
