Trump to announce $1.7 trillion infrastructure package at SOTUA

How does that make sense? Is it about color , nationality or sex? Nope about people who don't read the news and just watch Fox. Those trapped in the right wing bubble will make us all pay for their ignorance. Trump is not a friend to the masses. he is accelerating a plutocracy. Those people are hurting us all and are proud of it.

Ok

Trumps package will include private companies. Can you say "toll roads". Tax payers will pay 80 percent of costs. For their 20, corporations will charge us toll roads for ever and ever. Great deal for some one., The people better get used to being bled by the wealthy. We have one for president and 2 other branches working for them.

"Nordberg" is correct, but the 80% is high, in some cases Federal funding will only be 20%, the trillion he will talk and which will be echoes thru out the right wing media Wednesday is estimated at around 200 billion from the Federal Gov't. Where the remaining funding comes from is up to the States and local authorities

At the same time, monies projected for existing projects will be reevaluated and agencies as the Dept of Transportation will experience major cut backs, in other words, money earmarked there will go into the promised pool, it is all smoke and mirrors

The excuse is lessening the Federal Budget's share, letting the local authorities come up with the funding. All they are doing is changing the usual funding pattern, which is going to hurt lesser States who would have to come up with the additional funds. The irony is that they are the same States who supported Trump, but the rhetoric those citizens listen to will narrate a different story they will believe

You should oppose the infrastructure program, then. :rofl2:

I don't recall saying the debt was "irrelevant". I asked you about its' relevance to the proposed infrastructure program, in case you didn't "get" my meaning.

Want to try again?

Try what again? We don't have a couple of trillion bucks lying around for "infrastructure". Period, end of story.

Are you under the impression that we need cash in hand to appropriate any funding in Congress?

You two are beautiful, it ain't costing a trillion, 200 billion, you'll hear a trillion Tuesday and thereafter but it is all smoke and mirrors, another Trump fabrication, it is a infrastructure plan in name only, read the topic post if you want to exchange

I'm through playing silly games with you. You know damn well what I'm getting at. We do not have the money for this. It is utterly irresponsible to continue the runaway spending, and burdening future generations with it.

Do you want to let the highways and bridges crumble, shut down the government, lay off the military and raise taxes?

We have toll roads and bridges in my state that are operated by the state. This on top of high gas tax, and a new carbon tax. There isn’t a tax the pigs (Democrats) won’t gorge themselves on.

All the while griping about trump's tax cuts and the deficit he inherited from Obama, right?

We have spent more on the military than the next 10 countries combined, and have been doing it for many decades. Want to know where your healthcare went ? Want to know where our infrastructure went? How about our schools? We are operating and paying for nearly 900 bases around the world.. We are building an incredible army, over and over. Eisenhower warned us about the dangers to America from the Military/industrial complex, and we did not heed his words. if you build it, you will use it. We have been invading and warring for generations.
