Yes at his core Trump is arguably left of most of the main Dems in many issues.
But he is also a career grifter which means if he sees someone he sees as a mark he can make money off of, he will set up a fake charity, set up a fake university, or lie to them about his political beliefs to fleece the sheep of their money.
His entire presidency was not about fixing anything in America. Trump does GAF about America. It was about seeing a bunch of sheep and knowing what buzz words and actions would get them to potentially donate millions.
What he found was those marks would not just send millions, they would send hundreds of millions. Some would bankrupt themselves to send the 'billionaire' who is 'very rich' and 'does not need your money', that is how gullible the sheep are.

Even now he is saying he is running on weaponizing the DOJ to put Biden in jail, if he is elected again. No hands off arms length approach. Full on one person rule in the DOJ, and that being him.

Rational people do not see a person running on a very loud proclaimed promise to "weaponize the government against his political opponent' as anything other than a fascist wannabee. That is why the fascist wannabee Trump gets trounced by Biden by a crushing number of "rational people" voting for him over Trump.
Trump is valueless. He respects nothing. The prick cheats at golf. Who does that his whole life and yet is so bad at it? What it tells you is that Trump can fool himself as easily as he fools his followers. The man has serious problems.
