And the value of what they earn has fallen.
For the time being, yes.
Now you are going to blame Biden for everything, yet you blamed trump for nothing.
And the value of what they earn has fallen.
American workers have record employment, record job growth and we are looking at a much small yearly deficit under this administration
Nonfarm employment is down by 822,000, or 0.5 percent, from its pre-pandemic level in February 2020. (See table B-1.)

She likes to make things up.

I know "it's traissory" No economist is saying that. Actually before the pandemic hit Trump had things under control. and the American economy did better than most did during the pandemic.
Here’s what makes me laugh (and it’s not exclusive to Democrats by any means). Go read some liberal posts from the 4th qtr ‘21. You guys were talking about a Biden economic boom and how great he was doing and this is what happens when Democrats get control. Now all of a sudden, none of this is the President’s responsibility. Now all of a sudden, it’s all outside forces.
This is why it’s often funny when partisans talk economics and spin themselves a million different ways to make their side look good.
The mistake is to assume the president has all the control over inflation.
Yes Trump followed Comrades Brix and Fauci's advice.Millions of people unemployed, thousands upon thousands of businesses closed forever, and you call that better than most?
Hello cawacko,
The mistake is to assume the president has all the control over inflation. He has very little, actually. Biden is doing what he can. A good job in a tough situation. Folks, we have maturity and empathy.
I'd like to hear a DT fan explain exactly what DT might do differently that would bring inflation down.
That should prove interesting.
It's always easy to attack the incumbent.
Gets a little tougher when people want to know what the plan is to do things differently.
"Oh, just don't be in a pandemic, or allow Russia to attack Ukraine."
Riiiight.
Not helpful.
Doesn't inspire much confidence things would be any different.
The biggest issue goes back to the lack of leadership in the initial pandemic response. Why was there no talk of having the government pay employers to keep workers on the books? Why did so many businesses fail? Why didn't the government do a better job of preventing businesses from going belly up and workers from losing income and healthcare.
Agreed, throwing money at the general population was not the best idea, but a lot could have been done with targeted injections where needed most. Put the economy on hold until it was safe again. Keep jobs and businesses in place. That would have been smarter. A bold proactive president could have championed that. Not a Republican one. That would never have happened. Any Republican would have essentially said tough luck you're on your own.
We’re in 2022 and you’re still talking about April 2020 PPP plan?
Yes Trump followed Comrades Brix and Fauci's advice.
Neither of them lied about Covid, but Trump did from day 1. I thought trump was going to hire only the best and the brightest?
He did not hire Fauci and Fauci lied,
We all know the #'s. Record unemployment claims, slowest growth in decades, worst jobs record in modern history, et al.
So why are we supposed to believe Trump would somehow have a "better" economy right now had he won a 2nd term, or that he would have "saved" the economy? On the latter, he would essentially be "saving" the economy he ruined as President in his 1st term.
And spare me the COVID argument. If you want to present that, name the last President who hasn't had to deal with and navigate at least one major crisis.
Give Biden some time. He's been President for a year and a half, and the employment #'s have been excellent. Other measures are going up. Inflation - a global problem - was inevitable, but even that may improve significantly by the end of the year.
Stay the course.

When you mentioned other (economic) numbers going up I was curious if you were saying that just in general or had specific figures in mind? If the latter, which figures?
The Dow was up 700 points today and one of the reasons given was paradoxically worse than expected economic news made investors think inflation could slow as a result (and the Fed will slow down its tightening). I’m just curious what figures you were looking at.
