Trump’s ‘Co-Conspirators’ Are Already Starting to Turn on Each Other

Jack Smith’s latest indictment of Donald Trump isn’t yet two weeks old, but the alleged “co-conspirators” it identifies are already beginning to turn on each other — and some of them aren’t even being subtle about it.:good4u:

A number of the ex-president’s chief lieutenants and alleged co-conspirators in the plot to overturn the election, such as conservative attorney John Eastman, have insisted the effort was perfectly legal and based on sound evidence.

Others, however, have recently sought to distance themselves from the efforts of others, implicitly heaping the blame for any potential criminal conduct onto fellow participants in Trump’s attempted coup.

“It is the ‘please don’t put me in jail, put that other guy in jail’ strategy that was sure to come up at some point or another,” says one attorney working in Trump’s legal orbit.

Attorneys for veterans of Trump’s post-election activities like Rudy Giuliani and Kenneth Chesebro — both of whom have been identified as among the six unnamed “co-conspirators” in the most recent federal indictment of Trump — are now casting blame towards others on the campaign’s legal team or people close to the then-president.

Giuliani and his lawyer are now openly trashing and blaming the “crackpot” alleged activities of Sidney Powell, another lawyer who worked on Trump’s post-election efforts. On top of that, Chesebro, the key architect of Trump’s fake-electors ploy, is now trying to downplay his involvement in the effort, spreading the possible blame and criminal exposure elsewhere.

And in recent weeks, Trump and his own lawyers have made abundantly clear that part of their legal defense will lean heavily on “advice of counsel” arguments — in other words, it will involve scapegoating attorneys who were only doing what Trump instructed them to do, or wanted them to do.

Prosecutors appear to be only too happy to seize on these divisions. Sources who’ve been in the room with special counsel staff tell Rolling Stone that in the past several weeks, the special counsel’s office has signaled that they intend to put pressure on the half dozen “co-conspirators” listed in the Trump indictment. Representatives of the special counsel’s office also appear unusually well-briefed on the existing fissures between members of the Trump post-election endeavors, according to those who have spoken with the office.

The feud between Giuliani and Sidney Powell — another attorney and alleged Trump co-conspirators — is among those probed by prosecutors, sources with knowledge of the situation say. Recent witnesses have offered up details on the behind-the-scenes animosity between the two attorneys. They’ve also told investigators their accounts of the former New York mayor’s private antics during the months following Election Day 2020.

Adding to the intra-MAGAland tensions overflowing into public view, Robert Costello, Giuliani’s lawyer, attempted to put as much space as possible between his client and some of Powell’s work to keep Trump in power. emphatically telling CNN: “Rudy Giuliani had nothing to do with this,” and, “you can’t attach Rudy Giuliani to Sidney Powell’s crackpot idea.”

I bet a plethora of MAGA morons swallowed Sydney Powell's bullshit about Hugo Chavez and sending votes to Italy to be counted and all that other bullshit.

Powell opened her segment by making unsubstantiated claims about "a massive and coordinated effort" to "steal" the 2020 election. She didn't cite the email, or indeed any specific source, to back herself up.
She also baselessly claimed during the show that "computers" were used to "manufacture votes for Joe Biden."
"We need an audit of all the computer systems that played any role in this fraud whatsoever," Powell said. Bartiromo did not correct Powell, or ask for proof of these claims on air.
Separately, Dominion Voting Systems is also suing Powell and her fellow Trump allies, Rudy Giuliani, and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, for defamation. The company is asking for $1.3 billion in damages, alleging that the trio pushed a slew of baseless voter fraud claims that hurt its business

No one who did it and was not charged was given a pass

No one was ever charged with what you claim she should have been tried for
Agreed. Even the Democrats were happy to see Hillary leave even though they liked Trump even less.

evince, Trump is about to be charged. Manning was charged. Petraeus was charged. Snowden was charged. Hillary didn’t even get a wrist slap.

How many of Trump's traitors whined to the judge that they were only following Trump's orders on 1/6?

The J6 narrative has been debunked by the Commander of the Capitol Police. Who was never asked to testify by the J6 joke committee. Why? Now we know. It was a set up.

You’ve already proved you’re a nutjob. Now all I have to do is prove you’re a violent nutjob. LOL

Trump’s Plan to Save Himself: Scapegoat His Coup Lawyers
"John [Eastman] and Rudy [Giuliani] gave a lot of counsel," one Trump advisor says ominously. "Other people can decide how sound it was"

And Rudy has already been on news shows pushing it all on Sydney.

They are going to try and throw that hot potato down the line and hope only the 'little people' get stuck with it and go to jail. Not going to work though. They just make it more likely Sydney and the other 'lower' ones will fully cooperate.

Its gonna be hard to stay out of prison with 4 criminal indictments covering close to 100 counts.

prove it.....I would say that its been fairly easy for him to stay out of prison for the last six years.......and you've been bragging about him going to prison the whole time......

My money is on Sydney for the win, but I suspect both will be convicted. How much time they do depends upon what they have to say about the situation.

She is in a real bind. As she would be the natural one for Jack to lean on to flip and to give a good deal to.

But she is so incredibly stupid (like our Tinker) and uncredible that she would make a useless witness. So i think the have to jail her, as one of the easiest targets.

She's crazier than Rudy, but Rudy is the bigger target.

Agreed. And she would be a natural to offer a deal to testify against Rudy, but her crazy is so deep she would damage the prosecution even if being honest. The defense would have a field day with her.
So that is why i predict she gets no deal.
