Trump’s coronavirus failure is an ongoing tragedy, not a thing of the past

Remember, the pandemic is ongoing and things are not back to normal yet and won't be for months or years to come if then?!!

The retrospectives as the United States crosses the threshold of 100,000 deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic are moving and important, but they are missing something — and it’s not just the recognition that many of those deaths were avoidable.

It’s the recognition — the alarm, the feeling of panic — that every day that goes by is another day that Donald Trump fails to lead, and that the federal government fails to take the steps that could save tens of thousands more lives in the weeks and months to come.

While we continue to lose people at the rate of about 1,000 every day, much of the Trump coverage has turned to other matters. What reporting there is about Trump and the virus has largely become about his astonishing lack of empathy, his unseemly rush to “reopen” and his sadistic campaign against mask-wearing — all of which are legitimate stories.

But it’s almost as if the D.C. media has forgotten what Trump and the federal government urgently need to do — and could be doing — to save people’s lives.

As I have written repeatedly, experts in public health are essentially unanimous that minimizing the toll of the virus depends on forceful federal action to supercharge the supply chain for testing, massively increase the daily number of tests, mobilize a nationwide contact-tracing program and get infected people to self-isolate.

What we have here is a global catastrophe caused by the Chinese....one that will likely last at least a decade.

This isn't about the Chinese, it's about Trump's failure to response to the corona virus outbreak in a timely manner and Trump's lack of leadership too?!!

Trump’s coronavirus failure

DUNCE-O-CRAT LEADERS ORDERED COVID CARRIERS INTO NURSING HOMES, CAUSING THOUSANDS OF EASILY PREVENTABLE DEATHS...WHILE THOUSANDS OF BEDS TRUMP PROVIDED LAY EMPTY.....

The Chinese and not Trump????????????????

Trump has handled the pandemic just about as well as he could have given "NOT MY PRESIDENT!" and the fact that our elite have long sucked ass. A part of that sucking ass is all of the people who long ago decided to burn America down to burn Trump out....I was talking about this by mid 2017.

GOD HELP US

So Trump's inaction had nothing to do with the severity of covid-19 in this country. Just to let you know we have surpassed 100k death.

I cant see anything that he did not do that he could have done that would have made much of a difference.....his main mistake was trusting the CDC on testing, but they were very much not up the job. That we dont have the supplies we need was decided years ago when supply chains were allowed to leave America, that the medical system is expensive crap has been true for decades, that the so-called journalists dont do journalism anymore is not at all his fault, and that our experts are so slow at learning about this bug so that we can make wise decisions is not at all his fault.

Worried about the China Virus ending up in the rear view mirror are we lol?

Where were the mistakes that made a difference....exactly?

Besides, the 150,000 or so that are dead so far because of this bug by my estimation looks like winning....the main problem is the depression that we have a maybe a decade before it would have been here if the global economy had dissolved organically because of the lockdowns.....this low death rate has been highly paid for......life in America going forwards is going to suck greatly for a long time.

THE CHINESE CAUSED THE PANDEMIC. THEY AND THE UN (WHO) LIED ABOUT THE VIRUS UNTIL THE END OF JANUARY.

YOU DON'T GET TO REWRITE HISTORY.
