Trump's deportation vow alarms Texas construction industry

^^^
More proof MAGAts ain't too bright.

If he didn't get it before, there's no way he'll get it now. Jus' sayin'. :)
With all these people being deported and The tariffs Trump says he wants put on all imports the price of just about everything will go up then we will hear the MAGA crying again about high prices , well all I can say they got what they wanted so when it comes down if it does they do not have a right to cry about it.
But they will and then watch them try to put all the blame on Biden and the DEMS.
You MAGAS voted for it and got it you now own it don't cry too much when you can't afford to buy the every day things you need because the price has gone up 20, 30 , 40 percent or more .

Clear signals President-elect Donald Trump plans to make good on his campaign pledge to deport millions of undocumented immigrants in his second term has sparked concerns among some in Texas' business and economic sectors who say mass deportations could upend some of the state's major industries that rely on undocumented labor, chief among them the booming construction industry.

"It would devastate our industry, we wouldn't finish our highways, we wouldn't finish our schools," said Stan Marek, CEO of Marek, a Houston-based commercial and residential construction giant. "Housing would disappear. I think they'd lose half their labor."

Commercial construction. Residential construction. Road construction. Produce. Landscaping. Housekeeping. Restaurant kitchens. Oh, let's not forget about the tariffs.

What do these idiots really think is going to happen to the economy if Fatty Big Mac achieves what he promises? It took me exactly one semester of economics courses when I was 18 years old to know for certain that this man -- if he gets what he wants -- will collapse the US economy.

I worked in the utility construction industry for years, building CATV and fiber optic systems all over the eastern half of the country.

Our contractors used hispanic labor on the underground parts of the work. The issue is not wages. The issue is finding 20 people willing to do hard, physical work. You need a 1,000 feet of trench dug? Getting Americans to do it is a lost cause.

Keep saying, it ain’t happening, there will be a couple two three thousand deported for the photo op and Fox, but in the end, it will be shelved just like the Wall Mexico is paying for, and of course, it will be somebody else’s fault
You are absolutely right about that. This is a pattern. Trump gets whitey real worked up about brown people. Then he promises a bunch of bullshit that never happens. The "mass deportation" is the same thing as the wall that never got built that Mexico never paid for 8 years ago. But we must never underestimate the stupidity of a MAGA.

That's my guess.

What our nation needs is immigration reform including easier access to work visas, better oversight and severe penalties, including mandatory prison time, for companies hiring or renting to illegals.
I agree with all of the above except the “mandatory prison time.” The “severe penalties” I would propose would be fines making it very unprofitable to hire illegals. I’ve seen too many slip ups in paperwork (not by the guy who gets blamed) to want to imprison someone for it.

You know the trench is dug with a backhoe or Bobcat. There are many Americans - Hispanic, Germanic, Irish, whatever - happy to do these jobs. They simply expect to be paid union wages.

Not in the utility industry. We dug trenches in a utility easement that also had powerlines, cable, phone line, water line and crossed every sewer line going out to the main.

Most of the contractors I knew paid their hispanic workers $500 a week as a starting pay. Most made $650 a week or more. Plus they covered the cost of housing on the road.

This is truth as far as I can see. One of my former students owns a construction company and cannot keep employees. The ones willing to give it a go either won’t show up to work or they can’t pass the necessary drug tests…or both. Issues like this aren’t easily solved. IMO, making it easier to get and to extend work visas is a start.

Nothing more racist, bigoted and hypocritical than a white lib :palm:

You'd rather support pollution and child labor in China to save a penny.
You dumb fuck. You will be the ones blaming Biden when Trump causes the cost of goods and services to rise. Are you telling me that you actually want to pay more for everything just to get the brown folks back across the southern border?

I don't give a fuck if they are tan Europeans or purple, you f'ing racist.

I've been paying more for 4 years under Biden. So what.

If you let one construction business hire illegals, the rest will have to in order to compete with them, moron.

The fact that you support the cartels, fentanyl smuggling and human traffiking makes me want to puke. I know you white libs want your slaves. Nothing has changed.

You poor, simple, stupid hick. Biden did not cause inflation, but you can't understand that because you didn't graduate from high school.

I use E-Verify to confirm the eligibility of my employees. Trump hires undocumented immigrants.

The rest of your bullshit about cartels and fentanyl and human trafficking verifies that you are a brainwashed dumb fuck who relies on alt reich media to tell you what to think. You and RepubliKKKan KKKonservatives have supported illegal employment for as long as you have existed.

but all the jobs will be here.

don't be such a dumb globalist idiot all the time.
