Trump’s Dream Come True

And lets be clear, Trump is ONLY sending the National Guard into the safest areas of the States he sends them in to, where they mostly are engaged in city beautification (picking up trash, planting flowers, etc) to help alleviate the boredom of standing around doing nothing.

They are not been sent in to the heart of the crime districts where a physical presence on street corners might actually deter crime and that is because they did not want them seeing street crime happen in front of them with the pressure then to engage and take on the roll of actual policing which they do not have the authority to do. They also did not want the bad publicity of any of them getting shot.
You might very well have hit upon the shooter's motivation for doing what he did.
So yes, for Trump sending in the National Guard is all meaningless cos-play generally.
That's his reason for just about everything he does.

Image and publicity.

The city was already safer.

Are you saying that in order to have 100% safety in American cities we should permanently deploy federal troops in them all?
Nowhere near as safe as it is now... I didn't say anything like that at all...

They weren't available during the Covid shutdown. do.

Who was?

Can you link up to anything showing that American workers were hired for higher wages in that period? do.

I can certainly link up to the unnecessary lockdowns.

Once again, foreign workers aren't getting American jobs by magic; the jobs are offered to them by greedy business people who rarely get penalized for what they do.
Not necessarily.
This what happened in the New Orleans area. There were a ton of messicans that were allowed to come in after Katrina to help rebuild the city.
They didn’t make the effort to renew their visas and stayed. Would they have been renewed if they tried? IDK, but they didn’t.
Now a lot of those messicans work at menial jobs in fast food places. They have SS numbers and the employers honestly thought they were here legally but weren’t.
I seriously doubt you ever had any employees and had to do the verification process. You don’t seem like the type that would have the resourcefulness to own a business with employees.
It’s very easy for a once legal temporary worker to provide the proper documentation after his eligibility has expired.
My wife has to renew her green card every few years (she’s not a citizen and never will be). She doesn’t just let it lapse. If she did, she’d risk being deported and knows it. That’s called being responsible.

If you can't answer my actual questions without resorting to insult, we're done here.

They’re too easy. All of them. And it really doesn’t take much logic to destroy their arguments.

Immigrant Workers During the COVID Shutdown

Essential Roles of Immigrants

During the COVID-19 pandemic, immigrants played crucial roles in various sectors, particularly in healthcare, food production, and essential services. They were vital in keeping the economy functioning while facing significant risks.

Key Contributions

  • Healthcare: Immigrant workers, including doctors and nurses, were on the front lines, providing care to those affected by the virus.
  • Food Production: Many undocumented immigrants worked in agriculture, ensuring the supply of food remained steady. They were essential in harvesting crops and maintaining food supply chains.
  • Service Industries: Immigrants were also employed in food service and domestic work, which were heavily impacted by the pandemic but remained critical for community support.

Impact of the Shutdown

The pandemic led to job losses and economic challenges, particularly affecting immigrant workers. Many faced increased unemployment rates and job instability, highlighting their vulnerability despite their essential contributions.

Overall, immigrants were integral to the response to the pandemic, often working in high-risk environments to support the broader community.

In DC homicides are down, violent crimes are down and car jacking are down because of the heros in the NG. Even this NG hero's murder had to come from out of town to committed this heinous crime.
They were down before theses hero’s were sent to DC.

Nowhere near as safe as it is now...
So you're fine armed soldiers patrolling the streets of 'Murican cities so that the mud people will know their place and stay in their own neighborhoods...

...as long as trump is the one who ordered it

Got it
I didn't say anything like that at all...
Maybe not in so many words, but it's EXACTLY what your words mean.

You cannot have it both ways.

You said it... I didn't... That's not what's happening... Not in so many words at all , is it?

In the aftermath of this soldier’s death, Trump proclaims he will halt all immigration from ‘third world countries’. Whatever that means.

It’s his fucking wet dream come true. Places guard in risky situations where they have never been requested, a constitutionally marginal move at this point, to score political points against his perceived enemies. Pushing tensions to the limit where something negative was almost inevitable. Then, when it does occur, uses that tragedy to justify another bullshit political ploy.

Creates a fucking disastrous situation to justify more punishment for his enemies list. Looks very similar to a Reichtag fire.
Right on the mark, my first thought
