Wages aren't set by "price discovery"; they're determined by greed.
So for example, Walmart made $14B in profit last year, yet Walmart workers qualified for over $6B in assistance. So if Walmart paid its employees wages high enough that they didn't qualify for assistance, Walmart would have made $8B instead of $14B.
No one is entitled to run a business, and if you cannot run a buiness successfully and pay your workers a wage high enough that they don't qualify for assistance, then you shouldn't run a business at all. Full stop.
Welfare doesn't exist for the entitlement of its recipients, it exists for the entitlement of business owners who don't want to pay a high wage because it would mean they couldn't have their business.
