Trump’s hero

Cohn was a piece of work with a lot of self hate. I can’t imagine living that existence.

For that matter, it's hard to imagine living the kind of life most of these Reichwingers here do. The hate, the vitriol, and nastiness... sometimes after exposure to their toxic stew of waste you feel like you need a shower. Or at least a walk in the forest.

Diagnosed by Nietzsche as resentment. The masses are resentful of power they don't have yet revere the very ones who oppress them because they have power.

Isn't that the strangest thing? Why?

You would have to admit you have little power and reconcile to that. The reactive character worships power and would rather have a powerful entity dominate them than admit how 'small' they are. Resentment is itself a feeling of power--negative, but gives a sense of being influential.

What is wrong with accepting that as individuals we ARE small and relatively weak? It is when we band together for a common reason -- to inspire our favorite team to play or to get a candidate elected or build a museum or to make music -- that we have true power. There is nothing wrong with realizing that in the huge scheme of the universe we are but specks. Yet you may stand outside under the night sky and still have the glorious human intellect to be able to look up at the stars and know that you are made of the same thing they are.

Individualism is, unfortunately, a destructive cult.

The Italian for fascism is "bundled sticks." So all these little individuals are tied tightly together into a single entity. But the leader--Mussolini, Trump--speaks for this mass of bundled individuals.
