Trump's illegal tariffs cost each American household $1,000 last year

Inflation is below what it was with Biden and has remained so since Trump took office. Ending inflation is likely impossible for any President to do.
Who knows? One of Trump's first acts was to remove IGs and department heads who evaluated costs and impacts of programs. They now say whatever Trump wants.

Any fair minded person knows ABC News is a credible mainstream news source which endeavors to practice the standards of professional journalism
The Media Research Center (MRC) analyzed the mainstream media coverage of President Donald Trump’s first 100 days, and the results are staggering.

According to MRC, a study of
ABC’s “World News Tonight,” “NBC Nightly News” and “CBS Evening News” from the dates of Inauguration Day to April 9, reveals an overwhelming 92.2% of stories about Trump were negative. This means only 7.8% of the 899 stories studied were positive.

ABC, like the rest of the MSM, has a heavy bias against Trump and fair reporting on what he's doing. I don't expect them to be cheerleaders, but would expect they report the news without overt bias, something they aren't doing. When over 90% of your reporting is negative to extremely negative on a politician, you have shown an implicit bias against that politician. No politician could stay in elected office when 90%+ of what they were doing was actually negative to extremely negative in the eyes of the general public. ABC is heavily biased against Trump.

That's "fair minded" based on ABC's track record of reporting to date on Trump.

Trump's tariffs cost American households $1,000 last year

President Donald Trump's tariffs cost the average American household $1,000 last year, according to new research from the nonpartisan Tax Foundation.

The cost is set to go even higher this year to $1,300 per household, assuming the existing tariffs stay in place, the research said.

The research called Trump's tariffs "the largest U.S. tax increase as a percent of GDP since 1993." It suggests the president's signature economic policy is exacerbating cost of living concerns at a time when many households are grappling with persistently high prices.

According to the research think tank Tax Foundation, the federal government collected $264 billion in total tariff revenues in 2025 -- far short of the trillions regularly touted by the White House. The research also finds the tariffs will offset most of the economic benefits of the new tax cuts from Trump's signature tax law that took effect this year.

Estimates regarding the cost of undocumented immigrants to U.S. households vary significantly based on the source, methodology, and whether the analysis focuses on federal, state, or local fiscal impact.
Key Findings on Costs per Household/Taxpayer:
  • $50,000–$80,000 (Lifetime Costs): A 2024 analysis suggested that if 15.9 million illegal aliens were granted amnesty, the long-term net lifetime fiscal costs could average around $50,000 for each household currently paying federal income tax. This figure could rise to $80,000 per taxpaying household if the undocumented population grows to 25.6 million by 2030.

Where is your outcry?

More dumb lies. Most of the tariffs were eaten by foreign producers and importers.
