Trumps meeting in Oval Office

He helped blow up the Democratic Party
They blew themselves up. Running geezers over 65 to be President is flat out stupid.

Angry Democratic donors turn off the flow of money

Democratic donors — from bundlers to small dollar donors — say they are still angry about the election results and uninspired by anything their side has put forward since then.

“I’ll be blunt here: The Democratic Party is f‑‑‑ing terrible. Plain and simple,” one major Democratic donor said. “In fact, it doesn’t get much worse.”

A second donor was equally as pointed. “They want us to spend money, and for what? For no message, no organization, no forward thinking. … The thing that’s clear to a lot of us is that the party never really learned its lesson in 2016. They worked off the same playbook and the same ineffective strategies and to what end?”

Much of the consternation among the donor community stems from the unprecedented 2024 election cycle, where many felt misled by the party and former President Biden’s reelection campaign. Until the Democratic debate in June, donors and fundraisers were led to believe Biden could once again defeat Trump, even as many had serious reservations about it.

The Dem Party lost an election. It happens. In the past couple of decades, it actually hasn't happened that much compared to Republicans.

To determine which American political party has won more national elections over the past 30 years, we’ll focus on presidential elections, as they are the primary contests involving the entire nation. The timeframe runs from February 25, 1995, to February 25, 2025, covering the elections of 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024—eight elections in total.

Here’s the breakdown:
  • 1996: Bill Clinton (Democrat) defeated Bob Dole (Republican).
  • 2000: George W. Bush (Republican) defeated Al Gore (Democrat).
  • 2004: George W. Bush (Republican) defeated John Kerry (Democrat).
  • 2008: Barack Obama (Democrat) defeated John McCain (Republican).
  • 2012: Barack Obama (Democrat) defeated Mitt Romney (Republican).
  • 2016: Donald Trump (Republican) defeated Hillary Clinton (Democrat).
  • 2020: Joe Biden (Democrat) defeated Donald Trump (Republican).
  • 2024: Donald Trump (Republican) defeated Kamala Harris (Democrat).
Counting the wins:
  • Democrats: 1996, 2008, 2012, 2020 (4 victories).
  • Republicans: 2000, 2004, 2016, 2024 (4 victories).
Over the past 30 years, both parties have won exactly four presidential elections. The Electoral College, not the popular vote, decides these outcomes, and while there were close or controversial races (like 2000), the official results stand as listed. No other national election type (e.g., congressional majorities) consistently defines "national" wins in the same way, so the presidential tally is the clearest measure.

The result is a tie: the Democrat Party and the Republican Party have each won four national elections in the past 30 years.

Things are likely to shift back as early as '26.

He needs suckers for his sales. His appeal has always been to the lower IQ individuals.
Agreed. Another reason why he loves the poorly educated. It also explains why more and more Trump voters are saying things like “I voted for Donald Trump. But this is not what I was expecting”.

It's also why so many JPP MAGAts believe Trump "won by a landslide", "has a mandate from the People" and that there will be a Red Wave in November 2026.

Just because he has the money to pay for people to do those things doesn't make him skilled at it anymore than you buying a bottle of vodka makes you an extremely skilled distiller.
Even if you loathe him he’s incredibly successful at getting elected president.
First time running for any office he gets elected. The second one to ever lose then get elected again - after getting impeached twice, losing civil lawsuits and convicted as a felon.
What professional politician could ever pull that off?

He didn't let Trump bully him.
Except among MAGAts worshiping the Orange Jesus, Trump is joke among other leaders. Remember when he was laughed at for boasting during his UN speech?

Still, when a six-year-old has a loaded pistol, it's not wise to antagonize him.

My favorite definition if diplomacy is being able to say "Nice doggie" while reaching for a rock.

You missed the 2 that the Repubs lost, but the EC gave them the office.

I've always said that Trump is a genius when it comes to manipulating people.

The best grifter of all time.

Just not twice in a row. LOL

There's a reason why 70% of Americans voters refuse to become Republicans. Likewise for Democrats. When the only viable choices are what the two major parties put in front of voters, what are the 40% who refuse to join either major party to do? One is to always vote for the Challenger. The other option is to vote Third Party. I refuse to vote Democrat and also refuse to vote for a scumbag oath-breaking pedophile like Trump so I've always chosen the third option.

I think you are pointing out more about what is wrong with American politics, specifically our Congress, than about how wonderful the Orange Jesus is as a leader.

Sometimes we actually agree.
But look at Germany. They have several political viable parties and they simply can’t get their act together.
