Who or what will safeguard our constitutional order is not apparent today. It is not even apparent who will try. Democrats, big and small D, are not behaving as if they believe the threat is real. Some of them, including President Joe Biden, have taken passing rhetorical notice, but their attention wanders. They are making a grievous mistake.

Even if you call what January 6 was, was a insurrection (which I do not. I think it was a bunch of utter MORONS who got drunk and ran up to the Capital with no idea what they were going to do. Then the PATHETIC security was so weak that they easily broke through it. They went inside, walked around, acted like the idiots that they are, took a bunch of selfies - incriminating themselves, proving just how dumb they were - and went home.

He's not all wrong, with the recent wave of "election reforms," and particularly changes to authorizing election returns, the very hurdles that Trump couldn't get over in 2020 have been removed, seems more than just coincidentally

Trump is right now running for election in 2024, his orchestrated control of the GOP almost guarantees his selection as their candidate, those "smarter people" you are talking about do not exist in the GOP, everything goes thru Trump

Add the two together and you have to admit "BidenPresident" isn't all wrong

You will see that Trump did NOT run his election campaign.
Steve Bannon RAN that campaign.
And Bannon saved Trump's neck after the 'grab the pussy disaster'.
Trump was going to quit.
But Bannon talked him out of it.

Unless Trump is winning the polls IN 2023 (now means nothing).
He won't run.
And unless he admits the 2020 election was not a fraud (or tones down the rhetoric on it BIG TIME like saying 'it is behind us now. Let's move on')?

Credible argument. Another reason he may not run is fear of losing a second time. He covered the first loss as best he could. He saw the loss coming - all the polls, even Rasmussen, predicted it, so he began the lie before election day, saying fraud was the only way he could lose. Yup, even though Biden was killing him in the polls, Biden couldn't win. Almost half the country swallowed the big lie. But how well is the lie wearing with no hard evidence after all this time and oodles of evidence against it. Trump's ego won't tolerate a Bob Dole experience. Unless he has a big lead in the polls well in advance of the primaries, he'll stay out of it.

Trump's people have taken over the voting depts at many states. The next time he says find me about 12,000 votes, they will be in a position to do it. They are vetted to make sure they will.

Not talking about winning, rather that he will be the GOP candidate, and he certainly thinks he can win, especially given all the "reforms" mentioned above. Who do you think who is going to cross him and mount a primary? Better yet, who is going to back that primary candidate knowing the wrath of Trump and his influence on the base?

Trump might know it, but he will never recognize it, not in his shtick, the only thing that would keep Trump from the nomination is if one of the litigations or opened legal investigations reveals something even the right wing media can not cover up nor defend,
