No seriously, if I were to rank Muslim people's I think it would go like this:
1. US Muslims - A majority support gay marriage, probably the only demographic of Muslims in the world with that opinion. Honestly I'm not sure why US Muslims tend to be so much more progressive than other Muslim groups. I think we have the luxury of picking the most educated off from the world, it's not very easy for most Muslims to get here so we don't get a lot of hicks from the countryside.
2. Native European Muslims - Albanians and Bosnians
3. Central Asian Muslims - Most are "non-denominational" and not practicing. Uzbeks are more fundamentalist and poorer than the others.
4. Indonesians and Malaysians - Besides Aceh. Although unfortunately I think it's getting worse in Indonesia. Malaysia has definitely made progress though. Wealthier and more educated than most other Muslim nations, I think Maylasia is the richest majority Muslim nation (excluding petrostates) aside from perhaps Turkey.
5. Kurds - Warriors and bros, the heroes of the middle eastern conflict. Unfortunately not all of them are the nationalists you see on television, practices such as honor killings still abound. They tend to be poor and rural after all, this stuff sticks around. Otherwise they'd be closer to the top.
5. Turks - A century of more or less forcible secularization and laicite had some effects, they've taken huge steps backwards under Erdogan but are still way ahead of their Arab neighbors. Even under an Islamist government, 90% oppose the return of sharia law.
6. Iranians - Their government is awful but I think Iranians are generally much more liberal than their government. The people in the cities are more liberal than the people in the countryside as well. Most Iranians in the US are very liberal, but it's kind of a biased sample because that's the people that fled from the revolution. Also shia Muslims in general don't practice suicide bombings so there's a very low chance of terrorism from Iranian immigrants. Honestly I'm not sure if there's even been one terrorist attack by an Iranian, correct me if I'm wrong.
7. Pakistanis - Has generally gone backwards ever since founding. Pakistan tends to be very fundamentalist. Most UK Muslims are from there, and a majority of UK Muslims think homosexuality should be illegal, much less supporting gay marriage. Other south asian Muslims, like Muslim-Indians and Bagledeshis, tend to be better IMO.
8. Arabs - Besides the one bright spot, Tunisia. In any poll of Muslims, Arabs are almost always near the bottom in terms of regressive opinions. I think this is a reaction to their civilization being at a low point, culminating in the huge embarrassment that was the loss of Jerusalem to a group of Jewish refugees. Fundamentalist movements cropped up preaching that if they just returned to the old ways it would be the Rashidun caliphate all over again. ISIS was the decadence of this trend, hopefully some sense has been knocked into the idiot young men in the region after that movement broke part catastrophically. Saudi Arabia is also making progress, but damn, it's like going from the 10th century to the 15th.
Literally the most racist thing I've ever posted. Feel free to send this list to Trump tho.
