Trust In Government

So I'm sure most of you folks heard about the later Pew poll on trust in government finding that the level of distrust is at an all-time high (or something close to it). That finding wasn't terribly surprising.

The most interesting thing I have read about the poll is the breakdown of trust in government along party lines and over time. Here are the poll internals on party breakdown and incumbent presidents:

Two things jump out at me. First, Republicans generally trust the government so long as their party holds the presidency. Second, Republicans are particularly distrustful of the government under Obama as compared to Clinton and Carter.

Interesting.

If you really want to break the numbers down what was the Republican trust in government under Clinton in say 1994 when HillaryCare was going down vs. say 1999/2000 during the height of the dot com boom.

And what does that have to do with the poll Queen Race Baitor?

Funny how mentioninbg racism is now labeled race baiting by the right.

Steel can use it to deflect his complete inability to do his job but anyone on the left who mentions the racism that still exsist in this country is racebaiting?

Do you remember the postings here from the right and the media about people with brown skin trying to survive a disastor?

There was so much racism I was stunned.

There has been sooooo much lying about this president by the right that it has reached epic porportions.

There is an obvious racism problem in this country and its highly concentrated on the right.

a typical evince post:

so you contend that no one in the USA is racist anymore huh?

i could pull an onceler and accuse you of saying i said that, but since i know what a question mark is, i won't

no, i do not contend that......i contend you see racism were none exists and have an unhealthly obsession accusing others of racism where none exists

One thing that jumps out to me about your post is that you mention how Reps trust Obama less than Carter and Clinton, while you neglect to mention that Independents also trust him less.

Well, it didn't jump out at me. Thank you for pointing it out.

I also neglected to mention that Democrats are much less trusting of government regardless of whom is president than Republicans and that independents are generally more aligned with the out of power party than the in power party.

What I noticed most is that everyone trusts government less and less as it gets bigger.
