Tucker Carlson is Furious That GOP Lawmakers Supported Making Juneteenth a Holiday

No, it isn't. Over 1 Million Americans gave their lives to get this result. Respect that if you can't simply celebrate freedom. Seriously, this isn't a rightwing or leftwing thing. This is celebrating folks obtaining freedom in the "Land of the Free".

IT IS RACIST... RESPECT MY OPINION OR FUCK OFF BITCH

Juneteenth is tomorrow

What will be the nations traditions around this holiday ?

It’s going to be great fun developing these new traditions

Tucker Carlson is Furious That GOP Lawmakers Supported Making Juneteenth a National Holiday"

Flunk the un American and treasonous SOB Carlson who apparently is too stupid to realize that the seditious and treasonous Republican support is just a cynical conspiracy is to deflect from their seditious and treasonous talking points regarding critical race theory and critical facts regarding their war against Democracy and all so-called races associated with it. Unless repukes are willing to support voting rights protections, in particular, then their cynical support is complete hypocrisy. Yet I hope the Juneteenth Holiday becomes law as a result of repukes out witting themselves at in fact supporting Democracy in this regard, which defeats their purpose against Democracy and Justice: Texas. The next year, African Americans began to celebrate the anniversary of this occasion by celebrating Juneteenth.

This week, American lawmakers voted on whether or not to make the day a national holiday. Many Republicans, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy were behind the measure. But Tucker Carlson wasn’t. The Fox News host blasted Republican leadership for supporting the bill.

Carlson took particular issue with Texas’ John Cornyn. On Tuesday, the senator tweeted, “Happy that my bill to recognize Juneteenth as a national holiday just passed the Senate. It has been a state holiday in Texas for more than 40 years. Now more than ever, we need to learn from our history and continue to form a more perfect union.”"

I love when Carlson gets mad. Indignation temporarily masks his dumb face, which is impossible for me to view seriously for more than a few minutes at a time.

How does this hurt Carlson? It is not like he has to celebrate the holiday. How does gay marriage hurt Carlson? It is not like he has to marry a man.

The alt right just cannot stand seeing other people happy.

Misery loves company. The single greatest common characteristic among so-called "conservatives" is their desire to annoy anyone who is less "conservative" than they are. It's their purpose and goal.

Or like calling All Saints Eve "Halloween"? Or like calling the Mass of Christ "Christmas"? Or like calling Eosturmonath "Easter"?

I think that all commemorative holidays are obsolete. We're much too culturally diverse to share all of them.
"American" refers only to a nationality. Ethnically, we're mongrels or if not, of many different origins.
We can't all be celebrating each other's holidays because we basically don't give a shit about each other's holidays, religious or otherwise.
But we all enjoy time off.

I'd do away with all holidays altogether in favor of labor negotiating for more vacation days and personal time instead.
Various ethnic groups could use the extra vacation days to get together and celebrate their own specific holidays if they choose.

Who the fuck cares about a 4th of July that falls on a Wednesday or something? Not me, and I'm a Veteran.

Christians can celebrate Christmas, Muslims could observe Ramadan, grave decorators could celebrate Memorial Day,
but none of us need to celebrate all of them or we'd never go to work.

As far as I'm concerned, Election Day [not local elections] should be a national holiday every two years and that's it.
Replace all the others with extra vacation days and let each group observe what they like.

I'm all for celebrating it, in fact I will be celebrating it. It's the greatest victory Republicans ever had over democrats. Do we really need another paid day off for government workers though?
