TurboLibs cancel Memorial Day

Conservative

Repent, America!
(BOSTON.CBSLOCAL) — BEVERLY, Mass. – This Sunday, the streets of Beverly will look just like they always do. And that’s the problem, some veterans say. The city has cancelled its annual Memorial Day parade for what’s believed to be the first time since the end of the Civil War. Many veterans who were gathered at the Herman A. Spear American Legion Post on riday night are upset by the decision. “It’s not right to me,” says Ron Innocenti. He is a Vietnam veteran who has not only marched in the city’s Memorial Day parade in the past, he says he has also been its grand marshal.

Interesting that your article fails to say why. I don't like what happened either, but you're in no place to assume that it was because Mass is a blue state.

It does say why!!

“It’s a slap in the face to them that we’re not doing it,” he says. “But on the other hand, I can see why we’re not doing it because of the age of the veterans we have now.”

That gets to the heart of the problem. In Beverly, there just are not enough veterans alive who are well enough to march in the parade anymore.

Btw...Memorial Day is for honoring DEAD soldiers. I don't see a need for a parade, perhaps a service*

There was just a nice one at Arlington.

*Unless they can find some zombie soldiers.

So apparently the turbo-libs were the guys too old or dead to march?

I've been trying to figure out what exactly a "turbolib" is. Correct me if I'm wrong (h/t Burt [Bubba] Wilson, c 1999), but I suspect the Islamaohobe has a supposedly new name for liberals who aren't scared to death of Muslims, i.e. Turban Liberal.

That's all nice and crazy, but what it's got to do with this OP I have no idea.

Funny thing, I saw a post today saying "Whereas the literal meaning of Memorial Day is to honor those who died in the line of duty, a more contemporary thought is to use the day to honor those who served our country who are no longer with us. Fields of poppies and all that..."

I guess it all depends on who is posting it, huh?

Liberals have proven they hate those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for thic country.

You are a troll. Nothing more.
Oh so your liberal pal Dude has not spent months groaning every memorial I made to British troops killed in Afghanistan fighting Americas wars?
I didnt see you challenge his disrespect.
Clearly you agree with him!!

What am I? The board police? You can't handle a groan from someone? Are you that insecure and that much in need to public approval that some groans send you into one of your, now familiar, rages?

Someone on here called me a name. I didn't see you challenge them. Clearly you are behind them.

One of the neocons wouldn't leave a topic alone, despite my asking him to do so. He then revealed the contents of a PM from me. You didn't challenge him, so clearly you agree with what he did and would have done the same.

This sort of nonsense is ridiculous. You MUST be a troll. No one could actually be this stupid and this demented.
