Can you believe that crap actually plays with some in this country?
I couldn't believe it when I read Newt advocated firing union janitors and making the lower income kids clean the bathrooms!
What's astounding is that he's still the front runner after making those idiotic comments.
A seasonal retail job is something to get excited about, it is better than nothing, especially at Christmas, it kind of removes the tears and replaces them with toys. Be thankful for your wonderful job that supports your family.

I think school finishes around 3:30? They could bus the kids to other schools, private and upper income areas, have them clean the wash-rooms and have them back home for 7 pm dinner. Dinner, homework, off to bed. Maybe 1/2 a day Saturday cleaning the classrooms?
Furthermore, the two months off during the summer is outrageous. They're quite capable of carrying water or picking up the smaller pieces of coal in a mine. Every extra hand would help lower fuel prices.

No no no no no...Damo is right...I should be mocked for my optimism and for being happy that some are able to find work this holiday season.
I just assumed that most people might, like me, be happy to find so many jobs created right before the holidays and I shouldn't have gone out on that limb.

The company I work for is actually having the best December they've had in 5-6 years and so am I.
My contract work is up about 200% and that is in an industry where the 4th quarter is always the worst.
He's not out of the woods yet, but unless something REALLY CATASTROPHIC causes a serious economic downturn in the next 12 months, we're going to get another 4 years of Obama!!!
Three of my friends have received Christmas bonuses, some thing two of them haven't gotten in three years! It gave me a ray of hope!
Yup. As I said previously. I like money.
Its great some folks were able to find work this Christmas season.....and come January they will again be out work as usual......
Does the fact really escape you that it happens every year....
January the unemployment will return to 9.5% ......

Every year? The unemployment rate in January exceeded the unemployment rate in December 5 times in the past 20 years and a 0.9% unemployment rate increase in one month is practically unprecedented.
The numbers are seasonally adjusted.

You are right it is good news when people find work, especially one's who have been looking for a long time. Your headline though was 'Obama was right'. Was that to imply his entire economic strategy was correct or a specific program?
I am nit picking here but if your subject was 'Unemployment Rate Drops' and your comment was something to that effect that this is great news for those who have been looking for work you would probably garner different responses than stating 'Obama was right' and how are you hateful people going to spin this.
