Turns out Obama was right!

You're wrong. The unemployment rate is determined by how many people are drawing unemployment insurance. That's a fact until you can show us otherwise. Go for it.

No, it is not. The unemployment rate has NOTHING to do with benefits.

The unemployment rate is provided based on a SURVEY of households conducted. They call up and ask... how many adults in the house, how many are working, for those not working, how many are actively looking for work.

The rate is calculated based on the number who are ACTIVELY looking for work and cannot find a job. Those who cannot find a job and give up are not included in the rate. Which is why many people talk about the REAL unemployment rate, which would include those that have given up, being closer to 12-15%.

Wow, SF calls alias a dumbass and Alias thanks him for it.

Everyone observe what happens when one of the fem republicans gets slapped around enough by one of the butch ones.

This is their double-authoritarianism in action. Alias is a bully who calls people names and harrasses them based mostly on race, but also orientation. But being an authoritarian is not enough for many on the right - they also need a big daddy figure to whom they can be subservient.

Interesting...

Thanks, Darla. It makes my day when I know I'm so far into your head.

As a Damo-level mid-lister, SF is only naturally fuming with jealousy over the best sellers. At least he is not in the remainder bin with alias whom apparently, is SF's bitch!

Wow, such language. Did you wake up on the wrong side of the cell bunk today? Bump your head?

Did you notice how SF chimed in and turned the attention to Alias after I pointed out that Damo and Alias are playing off the same sheet? The Damo-SF relationship is so romantic. Alias just wants to be involved somehow, even if it's just as the foil SF uses to protect his man.

Ha, not until you pointed it out. I missed Damo's post first time around. They do have an adorable relationship!

Interesting. I love being a role player in someone's imaginary scenario. Thanks for thinking of me. Let me know how it turns out.

This ignores the (often ignored nowadays) requirement that those on unemployment seek employment. Those on the roles of unemployment are assumed to be looking, because they are required to do so...

Basically what I had stated was, since they no longer get unemployment and are no longer seeking they are no longer counted on the unemployment statistics.

Ignoring pieces of reality that are negative may "help" some people believe things are going good, but the number of people dropping from the roles (that no longer actively seek employment) is adjusted for those expected to retire, this number therefore reflects over 300,000 that simply gave up, but also no longer can receive unemployment (as they are assumed to be looking).

The title isn't part of the topic?

only to dishonest posters like zappa. imagine if someone on the right claimed gingrich was right about something that he was in fact wrong about and made that the thread title. i'm sure zappa would not go after the poster for incorrectly stating that gingrich was wrong.
