cops have been known to forget guns in bathrooms, changing rooms, and had their weapons taken from them as well, so I see no difference. can you explain it?

It's all risk/benefit. There is a risk of carelessness with both cops & teachers, and with anyone. But we accept that cops absolutely need to be armed to do their job.

Teachers do not, and most people realize that as well.

because they have a higher risk of facing armed criminals.....yes you have explained this many times. It fails completely because there are numerous crime victims on a daily basis who are not cops, so unless you have some sort of study that shows that cops are victims of violence moreso than civilians, all you're doing is espousing a prejudicial opinion.

Wow Damo, I thought for a moment this was another STY authority hatefest, but it's actually a story.

Personally I think the cops should carry on campus, I don't even have a problem with licensed concealed carry permits. While I'm not a believer in guns saving lives, I do think somebody should be able to radically discourage anyone who wants to shoot up a school.

What if the gunman starts shooting up the school before the licensed carrier gets there? Does the carrier keep it holstered because guns don't save lives?

Then you confiscate all the really muscular people, since they could strangle somebody, of all the people with friends since they could gang up on somebody.
