At least this is true for those of us who believe that the status of 'mandate' and/or 'landslide' is based on factually earning it, (instead of legally acquiring them via the 'winner takes all' process in most states) and the way to determine the actual degree of the win is to look at how many votes were cast for Trump, compared to those cast for Harris.

Trump's margin of victory, per current count status, is at 1.6%

No mandate.

No landslide.

The opposite shall have a say in matters of governance, and that's they way the framers and founders intended for it.

the EC has been in place for two centuries. Everyone knows how it works. The 'winner takes all' approach by state ballots is exactly that, winner takes all. so that 'degree' of victory in the EC is an overwhelming victory.

Now, It's nice to see some of the leftists here finally start to reconsider the idea of the minority having at least some power to block shit.........that's something most of the leftists here hated for a long time, calling it the tyranny of the minority.

Nope. The President is elected by an electoral college and Trump won by 86 votes. If we are going to gauge by other means, then Trump's geographical victory is a commanding 3-1 ratio.

Doesn't negate my point. A 1.5% voter margin of victory is hardly the mandate you fantasize about; it’s a ripple in a political tide. Those of us believe in democracy, which you, apparently, are paying lip service to, we know what 'the will of the people' means, it mean that a landslide has the overwhelming support of the people, not 'electors', Electors inflate the actual margin of victory due to the abundance of unearned electors. Nothing in the constitution dictates that winners should take unearned electors. but, the real way to gage support is the actual vote count, and if a margin of victory is a paltry 1.5%, as Trump's margin of victory is, that's no mandate. Get over it. Your boy won by a sliver, and he is going to have to negotiate with democrats in the Senate to get anything done.
