Capitalism is all about middlemen. Alot of people eating at the pig troughs... But know that the majority are living off the backs of the consumers.
Because a $1 item after it goes threw so many hands and everyone gets their cut, is a $10+ item.
Basically, all the people at the bottom end of consumerism are getting over charged, and as a result, they cant afford the cost of living and as a result, become poor.
Not to mention people losing their shirts due to bad investments. But that's their own stupidity. Capitalism caters to their stupidity.

Actually I read an article which states that over 65% of Americans are living pay check to paycheck. Everything extra is bought on credit!(TV's . cell phones, DVD. ect...)
A large percentage are on welfare, many are homeless.
2 million+ in jail. Most heavily policed state in the world. Not to mention the most lawyers in the world(that's probably the 35% that are not living paycheck to paycheck, and of course the finance boys). Most poverty of the developed nations. And remember, the undeveloped nations are poor, because their resources are getting raped for next to nothing from developed countries.
America got the edge from not only having the global reserve currency, but basing its currency on GDP and worthless paper money, rather then gold.
Not to mention the billions of dollars in drug money that is laundered through their system.
