Unemployed mother outraged she's obligated to do 15 hours of community service per week to receive $2,000 food stamps per month

3 kids don't warrant $2000 a month.

There would be leftovers.
There would be leftovers, lol.

Apparently you haven't been to a grocery store in many years. I can drop $125 and walk out with three bags half full. Am I saying you can't possibly live on less? No. But to pretend that you would have leftovers if you're a dependent slob that sits on your ass all week pounding down Ice cream and Doritos, proves you're out of touch.

I screwed up the math on that last one but of course you didn't catch it. $2000 divided by four is 500 divided by four people is 125. Especially if those are teenagers, you're not living or eating like a king.

I'm sure you get everything taken care of for you, so you have no clue what it costs to survive. Do I think anybody with three kids should get $2000 a month from their neighbors? Sure as a temporary measure while they look to find another job, but that's not what we're talking about here is it?

"I can drop $125 and walk out with three bags half full."

In what state is this?

$2000 would fill quite a few carts.

Last time I went to the grocery store was the first Wednesday of this month. That's "senior's day" at Fry's (a Kroger grocery store). The wife fills a cart with who-knows-what and I a second one with mostly the food. Two brimming grocery carts. That was just over $800 with a 10% discount. I could do about the same at the commissary on Luke AFB but that's more than 20 miles away. That means ice chests for refrigerated and frozen foods for about the same price.

So, by my reckoning you could likely get 5 or 6 carts if you were watching prices closely--something I, we, don't really have to do. That's a shit ton of food for a month assuming you don't fill them with soda pop, salty snacks, and microwavable frozen dinners.

From your link

The maximum allotment for a family of four in the 48 states and D.C., will be $975.
The second source adds something called a "shelter cap" to that of $712 for a total of just shy of $1700 a month. That doesn't even count if she's getting section 8 subsidized housing. That's over another $1000 a month. All tax free. It's nothing but a scam. Fuck her. She needs to get a goddamned job.

A shelter cap is a limit on the amount of shelter costs that can be deducted when calculating a household's net income for SNAP (food stamp) benefits.

What possible be the reason for $2000 for 3 kids?

It's really quite sad how the level of propaganda for our resident maga mooks and alt-right reprehensible has dropped to bargain basement. It's like all they want to do is just try to divert the daily disasters that are coming out of the current administration with any BS they can throw out to "own the libs". How sad for them that all their bluster can be easily debunked:

  • Overall, we rate The RFAngle, as far-right biased and Questionable based on poor sourcing, promotion of right-wing propaganda, lack of transparency, and the publication of misleading and false information.

How strange. Maximum benefit is $1,756 for a household of eight.

Beginning October 1, 2024, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) increased the benefit levels to address rising grocery prices, with a maximum benefit of $973 for a family of four in the 48 contiguous states and Washington, D.C., reflecting adjustments in income eligibility standards, deductions, and cost-of-living updates to support households in need.
