This bill has nothing to do with Asylum cases in backlog. You are speaking of the Flake/Gutierrez Bill in Congress and the current trial balloons about a similar bill in the Senate. That is for illegal immigrants, not for those that have requested legal asylum.

Flake/Gutierrez is a bad bill, but it has little to do with a backlog of Asylum cases.

I was addressing two issues at the same time...comparrison of the two were noted!
