US deportations under Biden surpass Trump's record

US immigration authorities last year deported the largest number of undocumented immigrants in nearly a decade, surpassing the record of Donald Trump's first term in office.

More than 271,000 immigrants were deported from the US over the last fiscal year, according to a report released by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency on Thursday.

The regime had a record number of illegals with their open borders policy the entire Brandon term which Dems belatedly acknowledged was a losing issue for them.

That and 271,000 is a drop in the bucket compared to the number the regime allowed in.

I wanted the bipartisan border security bill passed last year, while you were cheering :cheer: Trump's sabotage of the bill

80% of asylum-seekers rejected, DHS official says​

SAN DIEGO (Border Report) — About 80 percent of asylum-seekers who come to the United States are being rejected and sent back home, according to Luis Miranda, Assistant Secretary for Communications with the Department of Homeland Security.

“In general, most of the people who arrived in the United States during the last three years have been deported, expelled or returned to Mexico,” Miranda said during a video news conference on Wednesday afternoon.

He stated those who could not be immediately sent back face removal proceedings that can take years.

Miranda also stressed that asylum is for those who have been persecuted, belong to vulnerable populations, or are discriminated against for their sexual orientation or preference, and religious or political beliefs.

“It has to be a direct persecution,” he said. “Asylum doesn’t exist for those fleeing or traveling for economic reasons or due to general violence where they live. Asylum is determined by the courts, and it varies depending on the case.”

Good thing. Not only was it toothless but it allowed safe passage for thousands of illegal immigrants.
I fully expect the new admin. to go back to taking real steps to close the border and deport illegals.
I hold him to it.
