Biden, or whoever is running things at the White House finally after years of essentially having an open border, figured out that the public and even vast majority of politicians, including those in their own party, were dead set against letting in millions of illegals from everywhere. Before Biden, there were an estimated 11 to 15 million illegals in the US. Since Biden another 5 to 10 million have entered meaning that Biden in just four years has increased the US illegal population somewhere between 50 and 100%--IN 4 YEARS!

Of course, deportations are way up. Illegal entries are massively up. The number of deportations is a smaller fraction of what's crossing in the last 4-ish years of Biden. Doesn't matter that the physical number is larger, it isn't keeping up with the rate of entry. That is, the ship is sinking, and Biden isn't bailing water fast enough.
