A dollar is worth 10% less than it was at the beginning of the year.

Wrong; it is worth 3% less....in the Real World.

$1 in 2024 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $1.03 today. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 2.35% in the last 12 months. As a result, the real value of a dollar has been decreasing recently.
