Perhaps, but given the time period, and fact there was no existing model, I think they did alright, it is what others have made of it since that has undercut its applicabilityIf a constitution meant to be that but doesn't make that clear from the outset, within its articles, it's a poorly written document.
So, which is worse the machinations of the legislature which regularly get exposed and stopped, as Virginia just found out, or mob rule by popular vote? But as we all know State Legislatures are manipulated thru such as gerrymandering and party politics while the direct vote is the actual opinion of the State’s citizenry
Why is popular vote automatically mob rule? Everything from school budgets to Governors are determined by popular vote and I can’t say I’ve heard of a lot of mob rule in eitherSo, which is worse the machinations of the legislature which regularly get exposed and stopped, as Virginia just found out, or mob rule by popular vote?
What else is it? Everyone gets a single vote, no matter who they are. That means the stupid, angry, haters, welfare recipients, and every other sort of moron in the idiocracy gets a vote. Why is popular vote automatically mob rule? So welfare recipients are now “morons?”What else is it? Everyone gets a single vote, no matter who they are. That means the stupid, angry, haters, welfare recipients, and every other sort of moron in the idiocracy gets a vote.
States and Congress regularly get demi-retards in office. Arizona has had its share of shit governors over the years. Two that come to mind are Ev Mecham and Janet Napolitano. Those two were horrific.
So welfare recipients are now “morons?”
Of course they get a vote, your “moron” could be another person’s Einstein, and often the best qualified aren’t elected, but I don’t see a lot of “mob rule” in American history
Denying your fallacies does not make them go away, anchovies.Fallacious use of fallacy
Go see the history of democracies and why they always fail. Why is popular vote automatically mob rule?
Wrongo, anchovies. Both election procedures are outlined in the constitution. The officers are described, given a limited power, and a limited term.Everything from school budgets to Governors are determined by popular vote and I can’t say I’ve heard of a lot of mob rule in either
Arizona has had a lot of problems with Democrat election fraud. What else is it? Everyone gets a single vote, no matter who they are. That means the stupid, angry, haters, welfare recipients, and every other sort of moron in the idiocracy gets a vote.

Hmm, not to sure about that. A sad reality is that you can push people only so far until their backs are against the wall .... then they push back. The Brooks Brother's Riot will seem like a joke if the current administration and it's like minded state officials keep openly trying to keep the people from having their vote count. The process that the Constitution put in place for being amended requires far more...consensus for lack of a better word...than a sharply divided America will ever see again. I think that we've seen the last amendment this republic will ever have unless a lawless, illegitimate one is created by the fascist state that we've become.
It is DEMOCRATS committing election fraud, Libby.Hmm, not to sure about that. A sad reality is that you can push people only so far until their backs are against the wall .... then they push back.
