US states say Trump illegally appointed Elon Musk to head DOGE

When we have double digit inflation, poor growth, and exploding deficits, many of those who did will regret it.

In all my years on this forum, there is nothing more perplexing than ANY people freaking out over the fact the US spending ledger has been opened for all to see.

They know who's been getting the money, I suppose.

It is a well-documented, though seldom discussed, phenomenon: Members of Congress, particularly those from the Democrat Party, often find themselves enriched not through direct bribes or blatant graft but through a far more sophisticated and legal mechanism—non-governmental organizations (NGOs) receiving federal grants and funding from major Democrat donors.

While campaign finance laws prohibit members from directly pocketing such funds, no such restrictions apply to their spouses, children, or relatives.

The result is a shadow economy of influence, where taxpayer dollars and billionaire largesse quietly sustain the political elite’s families.

This dynamic explains why so many legislators, who begin their political careers with modest means, mysteriously accumulate significant wealth while drawing only a congressional salary.

Those seeking influence—whether corporations, unions, or ideological billionaires—do not need to funnel cash directly into the bank accounts of elected officials. Instead, they endow their spouses with board memberships, secure well-paid executive positions for their children, and ensure a steady stream of consulting fees for their extended relatives.

The effect is the same as direct bribery, yet it escapes scrutiny because it remains within legal bounds. It is time to dismantle this silent machinery of corruption.

Consider the curious case of Representative Angie Craig (D-MN), whose spouse, Cheryl Greene, serves as a director at the Human Rights Campaign, an NGO deeply enmeshed in left-wing advocacy and generously funded by Democrat megadonors. Or Representative Stephen Lynch (D-MA), whose wife, Margaret Lynch, directs the South Boston Community Health Center, an organization that, like so many others, thrives on a steady stream of government grants. Then there is Representative Don Beyer (D-VA), whose spouse, Megan Beyer, conveniently sits on the board of the Global Women’s Leadership Initiative, another NGO sustained by public and private liberal money.

This pattern repeats itself across the Democrat caucus. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), the House Minority Leader, has a wife, Kennisandra Arciniegas-Jeffries, who is employed by Union 1199 SEIU’s Benefit Fund—a position that comes with all the financial security and influence such an arrangement entails. Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), a champion of progressive causes, is married to Steve Williamson, an executive director at Essential Workers for Democracy, an NGO whose very existence depends on the policies Jayapal champions in Congress.

The phenomenon extends beyond the House of Representatives. Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO) is married to Susan Daggett, who sits on the board of Smart Growth America, an organization that benefits directly from federal housing and urban development policies. Senator Mark Warner’s (D-VA) wife, Lisa Collis, co-founded the Collis-Warner Foundation, a philanthropic entity operating in the same circles as major Democratic donors. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), a vocal critic of corporate influence, conveniently has a wife, Sandra Whitehouse, who serves as a senior policy advisor to the Ocean Conservancy, an NGO that benefits from Democratic climate policies.

What makes this arrangement particularly egregious is its insulation from campaign finance laws and lobbying restrictions.

Were a foreign government, a corporation, or a billionaire donor to hand a suitcase of cash to a sitting member of Congress, it would constitute a crime. But if that same money is routed through an NGO that hires the politician’s spouse as an executive director or their child as a board member, the transaction is perfectly legal. The American people are expected to believe that this arrangement does not influence policymaking.

Enter Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has begun scrutinizing the financial relationships between members of Congress and the sprawling NGO sector.

Early findings suggest that improper payments, wasteful grants, and outright favoritism are rampant. NGOs receiving federal dollars often function less as charitable enterprises and more as conduits for political patronage. Musk’s team has already uncovered numerous cases where grants appear to have been strategically distributed to organizations closely linked to influential politicians.

The implications of this racket are profound. When lawmakers have personal financial interests tied to the continued operation and funding of NGOs, their legislative decisions are inherently compromised.

Federal spending is no longer dictated by the needs of the public but by the imperative to sustain these lucrative arrangements. It is no coincidence that the same politicians who decry “dark money” in politics remain conspicuously silent about the flood of taxpayer dollars washing through the NGO sector and into their family coffers.

If the United States is to restore integrity to its government, fundamental reforms are necessary.

First, there must be a prohibition on immediate family members of sitting members of Congress holding executive or board positions in NGOs that receive federal funding.

If an organization is funded by taxpayers, it should not double as a slush fund for political dynasties.

Second, there must be mandatory disclosure of financial ties between lawmakers' families and the organizations they claim to support.

The American people deserve to know whether their elected representatives are advocating for public policy or personal profit.

Furthermore, Congress should consider implementing a cooling-off period that prevents close relatives of elected officials from accepting NGO positions funded by federal grants for a set number of years.

Such measures are already common in the private sector to prevent conflicts of interest, yet Congress has conveniently exempted itself from similar oversight.

Lastly, a bipartisan watchdog, independent of congressional influence, should be established to monitor and audit NGO funding to ensure that public funds are not being laundered through political patronage networks.

The current system is a perversion of democratic governance, where influence is bought not with open bribery but through the quiet, methodical channeling of wealth to family members.

It is a scandal hiding in plain sight, one that only persists because it lacks the vulgarity of a direct payoff. Yet, the effect is the same: A Congress that serves its own interests first, and the American people second.

The question is not whether this system is corrupt, but why it has been allowed to persist for so long.

With Elon Musk’s DOGE team beginning to peel back the layers of this sophisticated nepotistic web, there may finally be a reckoning.

The American taxpayer should not be subsidizing the private wealth of political families. It is time to expose and dismantle this congressional cash carousel once and for all.

No, he is in charge of a department of the government which looks for Fraud, Waste, and Abuse. They then reports on it, to the Executive Branch, which then takes action, if they deem it a valid case of Fraud, Waste, and/or Abuse, to correct the spending, and possibly the people who are directing the spending.

If you had take the time to watch the above video, you would know that.

The DOGE writes reports, that's it.

You're dealing with the convoluted logic of a MAGA mook. They just parrot the SOS in various versions so no matter what questions you put to them or fact based logic contradicts them, they just prattle on. Note that they just avoid anything they can't BS past without coming off as stupid.

NEW YORK, Feb 13 (Reuters) - A group of state attorneys general on Thursday sued to halt Elon Musk's efforts to slash federal spending as head of President Donald Trump's new government efficiency agency, escalating the legal fight over the billionaire's influence in the White House.

Anybody remember obama appointing three dozen czar's?

The same bunch of liberal cucks who have been trying to imprison Trump for years? Of course it's filed in DC.

Well they can line up in a circle and jerk one another off because America isn't buying their bullshit.

Liberal ideas lost and Trump is their daddy.

It's go time now ain't it grand?

This is just another example of many of the left being unhinged and increasingly concerned that they're about to be exposed as the criminals they are. The ones that scream the loudest are the ones that should be investigated first, that's detective work 101. It's going to be so much fun to watch.

Musk was legally appointed as an SGE, that's a reality all of you libtards will have to deal with as Musk and his team of brilliant volunteers show the American people what kind of ridiculous spending has been going on for years. You'd think that at least some on the left would be thrilled with Elon exposing the absurdly ridiculous spending the unelected bureaucrats have been getting away with for far too long.
