US tomato prices could jump as soon as Monday By

NO it will have to hit them REALLY REALLY hard in their pocketbook before they do anything, MAGAS are too stupid to see what is happening, maybe when it starts costing some of them an extra 1 or 2 hundred a week or more to just live they will wake up, but until then I can't see it happening.
......BUT TRUMP!!!......

Much like the stock market is crashing, right?

It doesn't help that Florida farmers are plowing their tomatoes under because it costs too much to harvest them.

I bought a lot of canned veggies when Trump was elected. I’m ready for the shortage. I prefer fresh, but I’m prepared.
Good on being prepared. Same here, but I always liked keeping stocked up being out in the country.

It'll be a tough season for those with lesser means. Especially since Trump and his MAGAts are cutting support funds for the poor and elderly.

I throw some out in the field behind our house for the moose. We have too many .

CNN —
If tomato prices jump because of new tariffs on the Mexican-grown produce, restaurant owner Teresa Razo says her businesses could go bust.

“I give it three months, and then we go bankrupt,” said Teresa Razo, owner of two Argentine-Italian restaurants in Southern California.

Nut that was OK
Under capitalized businesses are not supposed to succeed.
What good is a job if it can't afford one a living?

Well, paying people more than the work they produce is worth has never worked but that doesn't stop the Left.

  • Then she's an idiot; the overwhelming majority of our tomatoes are grown domestically.

  • United States:Fresh tomatoes are produced nationwide in the U.S., with California and Florida as the leading producers.
    • California: California is a major producer of tomatoes, including both fresh-market and processing tomatoes. They produce approximately 95% of the nation's processing tomatoes and about 33% of the nation's fresh-market tomatoes.
    • Florida:
Florida is another significant producer of fresh tomatoes, particularly from October to June, peaking in April–May and November–January.
    • Other States: Other states like Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia also contribute to fresh tomato production, especially during the summer months when Florida's production decreases.
They are also grown in greenhouses across the states... Colorado has some greenhouses just "down the road a piece" from my house... Like a 40 minute drive or so.
