Don't tell Cypress, he thinks that because he believes "keyboard warriors" wouldn't go in there that the cops were justified in their inaction. Every cop on that force that didn't go in should be fired. Waiting an hour is not justified in any way.

This idea that they "didn't know" what was in there is crap too. In that hour the kids were calling 911 and telling them what was going on. KIDS kept them up to date, you know those ones in danger... This wasn't the "fog" of "ignorance" they had over one hour to learn what the heck was going on (which they would know from the information from the calls inside the building) and to try a doorknob. They were just too afraid to do their job and enforce the law.

These "police" on that force should resign in shame. Every excuse they've used has been debunked.

I think its worse than that. If the cops were standing outside the classroom door, they certainly heard shooting and screaming on the other side of the door. The door to the classroom was neither locked nor soundproof.

It was a failure of training and leadership. I'm particularly pissed they disarmed the cop husband of a teacher who was dying. Then they detained him. They were not only not helpful they were obstructive. Pretty disgusting. Before Columbine police were taught to set up a perimeter and negotiate with shooters. After Columbine police were trained to immediately confront the shooter and kill them if necessary. Police teach time is life. They are taught to even walk past wounded to destroy the shooter. Time is lives. These guys waited for the command to go in by their commander. Post Columbine police are taught that each and every policeman has the duty to immediately attack the shooter.. All of these guys went counter to their training or they were simply very poorly trained.
