Now, in the past the nonsense you mentioned (offered by the defense) might have worked. Even so...the jurors will not all find that credible from the get go. No way.

They probably don't want to be sequestered for several days in a case that is glaringly evident. Curious as to the findings. I don't feel that they accepted manslaughter so quickly. I think it's worse for Chauvin.

But the 20 lb difference doesn't really matter because at times, Chauvin's entire weight was on Floyd.

You are trying to make a semantic argument about "choking", when what happened was Floyd's oxygen flow was cut to his brain. That only happened because of the pressure Chauvin put on him.

I think manslaughter is something that they would agree to in order to have a guilty verdict after disagreement on the other charges. It could be argued that he didn't intend to murder Floyd, but he was negligent nonetheless.

I tend to agree with you about the actual outcome, but the truth is they could find for 2nd degree.

But I don't have faith in the jury because of the middle-aged white people on it.

After they burned down L.A, they got the King trial right. Or was that just a civil case? Garner never made it past a racist local grand jury. Philando Castille was another that never made it to a fair trial. White jury. That was a travesty. That might have set the stage for this Minnesota trial.
