Virginia cops pepper-sprayed Black and Latino Army officer

He wasn't resisting 'arrest'. He was impeding the job Cops are hired to do. (How fucking hard is it to show yourself, resolve any questions the Cops may have, then go about your business?)

Exactly. He didn't stop immediately when they first turned on their lights. That was followed by their using their sirens to alert him to stop. That goes on for a bit.
Then when he does stop he's either slow to follow their instructions or doesn't do so. When the officers approach his vehicle he begins to argue with them. The officers repeatedly order him to do certain things. He is either refusing, or arguing with them over that.

All of that is utterly stupid to be doing with two police officers--not one, two. That means this is more than a simple traffic stop in the eyes of the officers. There wouldn't be two there on scene from the start nor would they have immediately drawn on him if it were something simple like a traffic stop.

As the officers try to get him out of the vehicle you can hear him use an irrelevant appeal to authority "I am actively serving this country..." Doesn't mean shit. Being in military uniform and in military service means ZERO in this situation. That a military member would use that as an argument is even potentially chargeable under the UCMJ for misuse of color of authority, etc.

When the officers are unable to unlock and open the door in the face of continued resistance by the driver, they nuke him with pepper spray. That's a bit much, but not completely unreasonable. That even after being nuked, the guy still doesn't even make an attempt to get out of the vehicle as the officers have repeatedly demanded. He continues to argue with the cops rather than do as he's told.

I guess there's a reason why Ensigns and 2nd Lieutenants are considered the dumbest fucks on the planet in the military, and here's an example of one in action. It is totally that dumb fuck zero's (military slang for officer) fault here. You'd think he'd have learned to obey orders better...

Exactly. I am surprised an officer would be dumb enough to make that statement.

Dude, if that was true, why wasn't 2LT Nazario charged?

Not sure. Since we're bringing up unrelated events, why wasn't Tiger Woods charged?

Maybe they "didn't want to derail his military career". Maybe the DA is a flaming liberal. It's hard to say.

The fact remains, like the nitwits at the Insurrection and the murder of George Floyd, the video evidence is damning for the accused police officers.

I'd say the video is damning for Nazario. He clearly failed to follow the officers' commands and actively resisted being taken into custody.

FWIW, I have a dash cam in my car. It can be rotated if necessary. Everyone should consider getting one for both accidents and police encounters.

The higher end ones use bluetooth or wifi but a standard $50 cam is enough.

I'd kind of like to get one of those, thanks for the links.

what would you be saying if it was two FAKE cops who stopped a woman and then proceeded to brutally rape and murder her because she did exactly what you said anyone should do?????

Bend the knee for every police officer because the State demands it? Disagreed.

Let's make a wager on the outcome of this fiasco. $20 says the lawsuit is settled out of court and the police officers sidelined and/or reprimanded. Maybe not fired, but certainly this will fuck up their long term careers.

His suit is for $1 million. That’s letting the cops off easy.

I just saw the Video. It looks like the Cops asked the Driver to get out of the Vehicle. Not real difficult to do that.

I got pulled over once and was asked to exit the Vehicle. I did that. The Cop looked at me ... then said "You're not the guy". And drove off.

Why? What was the probable cause to draw weapons on Lt. Nazario? I've been stopped, slowed with flashers on until I found safe spot for all.

What charges were filed against Lt. Nazario? If not, why not given all the bullshit the two Barney Fife's from fucking Windsor, Virginia were claiming?

Now the Governor is involved:
Virginia governor calls for investigation into police threatening Black Army officer
Gov. Ralph Northam said he was "angered" by the confrontation that included officers pepper-spraying Lt. Caron Nazario.

Not sure. Since we're bringing up unrelated events, why wasn't Tiger Woods charged?
Why do you think the fact Lt. Nazario is 100% innocent of all charges is an "unrelated" event?

All smart, intelligent and sane adults know Tiger wasn't charged because there weren't two podunk PD cops with guns drawn recording the crash.

He was rightfully scared, a Blackman at night being stopped by to fat goober fat bellied cops in a small southern shit hole town, and they told him he was right to be afraid . Strange he wasn't charged with anything, as they said forget about it and keep your mouth shut and if he didn't there would be more crap to come

Any normal American would be rightfully concerned seeing two cops screaming at them with weapons drawn in fucking Windsor, VA, population 2,626.

Their threat isn't going to go well for them. There could be criminal charges on one or both of them.

The reason it took so long to fire one of these idiots is because they are two of the few cops the city has. The non-fired one is probably the cousin of the Mayor.

I watched the story on this at NBC News. They said the vehicles windows were tinted and there was no License plate. Later, they said it took the driver a full minute to pull over after the Police lights came on.
It comes down to asking the Driver to get out of the car ... since with tinted windows no one can see into the car.
Rather than simply exiting the vehicle, this guy plays 'Stupid' and just keeps mouthing the words "What's going on?".
'What's going on?' He's being stopped for tinted windows*and no License plate.

By refusing to get out of the vehicle, this guy is just escalating the situation. The longer he refuses to get out of the vehicle, the more suspicious he seems.

I have to agree with you, Jack.
Did it mention if he showed an ID? With no license plate, it would be routine to check the VIN # which is found on the inside of the windshield on the dash to make sure the car isn't stolen, so it would be normal to ask the occupant to exit the car so the cop could shine the flashlight on it. Nobody want's a 6 D-cell flashlight shining in their eyes!
