Voters belive Obama will do a better job handling the economy!

Thanks. I am looking at retirement in about 3 or 4 years. Since I can't find insurance with that cheap of a yearly premium (most is about that much a month) I may just choose to pay the tax. That said, I am seriously looking at this as an option. I would have really liked for the them (you know, federal government) to figure out a way to lower medical costs....then implement some sort of version of AMA for the country.

There is a way to lower medical costs, but the gobblement will never do it. Name one thing that the gobblement does that is not expensive? It is amazing to see people make the same old mistakes time and time again and expect a different result.

Yeah, the gobblement does a great job with so many other things. Lets let them take over 1/6 of our economy. Unreal

ObamaCare is just the first step towards a one payer system. Obamacare has settled the argument whether everyone needs/is entitled to health insurance. If/when parts of the plan come into effect and it's seen they are not sustainable then adjustments will be made. The point being universal coverage is the goal. Whatever changes are made that goal will be kept in mind. There will no more pure private system. That's the big accomplishment. The goal, the direction has been identified and put into place.

Obama has dozens of examples from countries that currently have a one payer system. I bet either he or his staff are going over every one payer system to see where the savings are made and adjusting them to fit into ObamaCare. It's not like it can't be done. It's been done dozens of times in dozens of different countries. Obama has dozens of templates from which to work. Those opposed are fighting a losing battle so remain optimistic. :)

Every country that has a government plan saves money. Every country. No exception so it's not some experimental, let's-see-if-it-works plan. If Obama can get a majority and get the Repubs out of the way it will be easy sailing.

Well, you're obviously a reasonable person who doesn't let every little idea put forth by Democrats turn into another partisan attack, maybe you could speak to some of the more obstructionist Republicans and ask them to shut up and actually do something about lowering your medical costs.

I don't know where they get that number from. The number of people who believe that Romney will do a better job handling the economy was way higher than the number of people who believe that Obama will do a better job. Obama has not done a great job as far as handling the economy is concerned over the last 4 years. Unemployment rate is still above 8%, something that He said would not be possible if his stimulus package was to be passed.

Im calm... I just figured the President would get blown away on this issue. He wins hands down on just about every other topic.

At least you're right ....he should get blown away on the economy.....
Only proves how utterly stupid and partisan the pinheads are.....they would rather watch the nation go down in flames than admit Obama's been a failure.

I agree with much of what you've said here to a degree .. but there is a looming problem that Obamacare doesn't speak to, thus doesn't much get talked about in the discussion. What has eseentially happened is that we've just invited 41 million Americans into an already broken system. Obamacare is written by the health insurance industry .. they never listened to the doctors.

Are you aware of how many doctors are leaving primary care? Not because of Obamacare, but because health care in America that is controlled by the health insurance industry is a broken system. That broken system still exists.

What happened in other countries with universal care that did not happen here was a focused direction on increasing the number of healthcare professionals to meet the demand. But that costs money .. and as long as you have the health insurance industry writing the bill, you can be sure there will be little to no money dedicated to anyone other than themselves .. and they've hit the jackpot with this one.

Point being .. will there one long waits between appointments? Absolutely, yes there will. We don't have enough doctors .. but maybe we can rent some from more advanced countries like Cuba. :0) They have so many doctors and healthcare professionals that they import them all over the world. Image that.

'It's almost like you make this shit up. Cuba has "so many doctors they import them"? ROFLMAO

I wonder if any of you left wing socialists even took an economics lesson.

There will be a two tiered healthcare system. Those with money aka CASH will get what they want. The rest of the rubes will get shit. Long waits rationed care, etc. etc. etc. Oh and now the gobblement will have the premise for controlling EVERY aspect of your life because all they will have to claim is that "what we want to regulate drives up healthcare costs blah blah blah blah"

I know that this serves your purpose, but for those who love freedom it does not.

Funny that your Dear Leader OWEdummycrackaddict wasn't as forthright when he was selling this piece of shit legislation.

Not as funny as all the sad, partisan Righties who hate Obama so much they were willing to let the insurance industry continue to run healthcare in this country rather than work with the president to come up with something better.

But I get it...hateful Righties gotta hate!

If Obama took on the insurance industry or the drug companies ObamaCare would never have passed. We'd have been swamped with negative ads. So Obama played it the smart way and shifted the parameters of discussion to "everyone gets health care" while leaving certain things unsettled. As different elements of ObamaCare come on-line and people realize the benefits it will be difficult for the insurance industry and drug companies to get away with misleading advertising and outright lies. Not only will public opinion change but the public will demand changes to improve ObamaCare opening the door to dealing with the insurance industry and drug companies.

Countering the doom and gloom stories spread about government health care was a job in itself. The public has to realize the benefits on their own before ObamaCare can move on. Once the majority of benefits come available in '14 negative ads from opponents will have less effect and Obama can then make the necessary adjustments and take on the insurance industry.

It's a tough battle but Obama will win because it's the right thing to do.

If the opposition had been forthright and not told outrageous lies then I'm sure Obama would have been also but it's difficult explaining government health care to people who know nothing about it except the lies about death panels and doctors quitting their job and all the other absurd, crazy, whacky nonsense the Repubs came up with. The Repubs are against government medical when the citizens in every country that has government medical insist on their respective governments keeping it. Every country.

Doesn't that tell you something? Doesn't it give you a hint it might be good when there is not one prominent politician in any country with government medical campaigning on dismantling it? Have you ever wondered why? Have you ever thought you might be missing something?

Few things as complex as a health care plan can go from nothing to perfection in one move. What if the first guy who decided a horseless carriage would be better than a bike stopped.

'Hey, that arsehole' says four wheels gonna be better than two. Well he's got four wheels and I still cant use it to go to the store! America does not need four wheels. He's a liar.'

You are easily amused. Doctors come to Cuba to get trained. OK? Cuba is recognised as having an excellent health service and first class doctors. If you people weren't so far up your own arses you would be using Cuba's skills to augment the disaster that you call health care.
Fool.

"YES BAC; you're always correct, when it comes to Cuba."
