I want people to get paid what they're skills are worth not some artificially inflated number the government came up with. If those skills only warrant low pay, who the hell should get the blame? The one doing the paying isn't the one providing low skills.
If someone can't make it on what they offer in the way of skills, why do they deserve part of what someone that can makes?
