War on Children Scored a Major Victory Today

We are talking about the story, not the reason for his veto.

He vetoed it to convince some idiots that he really is a "conservative" on spending.

Nah.

Cons don't mind spending at all. On things they like: war and pentagon. They just don't like spending money on social programs.

The reason bush vetoed it, is because the republicans know that it would be dangerous to provide publically-funded healthcare to working americans. Its a program that actually works, is cost-effective, and efficient. And if there's one thing Republicans can't allow to happen, is to show people that government can work.

We've heard this argument before in the 1960's with non-caring Republicans not supporting the Dems efforts to get children's food, healthcare and housing paid for by welfare programs. The result was inner cities where the fathers role was replaced by government programs, with perpetual poverty, crime, hopelessness and irreversible dependence.

The Liberals should think of that next time they think it is wrong not to expand government welfare to the middle class with programs like SCHIP instead of just thinking that their caring will solve the problem when it clearly made it worse before.

The beginnings of human wisdom on the limitation of the role of government are in understanding that you CAN do harm with even the best of intentions - which I don't doubt the left do have here...

Oh that's perfect! YOu could sell t-shirts with that on it.

Of course people may laugh at what that picture originally meant, I mean it was pretty funny when Democrat attorney general Janet Reno ordered troops to deport that kid.

No, the Federal Courts ordered that kid returned to his father, the family resisted and threatened to kill anyone who tried to return that poor boy to his father so the government came in protecting themselves.

How would you have suggested the government enforce the rule of law in this case?

They should have arrested those caretakers for kidnapping, and contempt of court!

Strange that the Dems did not pick on Elian or that poor girl in a coma like the repubs did not that 12 yr old boy supporting SCHIPS....
I guess Dems are just not a big assholes as repubs are.

You thought that was funny what they did to Elian, Dano?
Of course not.
Nor do I think Waco was funny with Reno, can you imagine if an attorney general under Bush went in to attack a religious muslim compound and everyone died? The left would be outraged, but they turn a blind eye to shit that they do.

Why would the Dems start this by USING a child to hide behind for their message?

Of course not.

You really need help.

traumatize a kid for life.... hell yeah thats funny... nothing like pointing a rifle at a six year old when you are looking for a good chuckle. Especially if you can literally scare the shit out of them while doing it.

:burn:

Lets equate.....

Pointing a rifle in the kids face and forcing him to live in Cuba....

wait... yeah that just doesn't compare to the other two. (no matter how wrong they were)
