Was last night's debate "a truly historical comeback" for Obama?

Rationalist

Hail Voltaire
Not according to the polls, most of which give the debate to Obama by a slight plurality. A majority believe either Romney won or that it was a tie. This is a very serious problem for the President. See below:

Mitt Romney Now Has A Gigantic 6-Point Lead Over Obama

"By Gallup's historical standards, it would take a truly historical comeback at this point for Obama. Since Gallup started tracking in 1936, the only eventual president to mount a comeback down 6 points on Oct. 17 was Ronald Reagan. Reagan, however, was behind 6 points among registered voters."

This poll doesn't contain any data regarding last night's debate.

Uh no, not really. By definition you have to be behind to comeback. Since Obama has lead in the electoral vote polls that's a bogus point. You have to quite reading the editoral pages of Forbes, Businessinsider and the WSJ. They'll tell you Obama is losing by huge margins even if he's up by 50 points. I'd suggest you reference the RCP average and don't bother with the national average. It's almost meaningless.

Yes, that's why I'm asking, "Was last night's debate 'a truly historical comeback' for Obama?" According to Gallup, it would take a truly historic comeback in order for Obama to turn this around. Do you believe Obama did that last night? ...When, according to CBS, he won 37 - 30, with a whopping 33% saying it was a tie? You be the judge.
