We are going to have double digit inflation for the first time in nearly 50 years

How will Trump avoid it with the promised across-the-board tariffs of up to 60-100% on all imported goods?

Genuinely curious how he's going to keep prices down.
You didn't learn the answer to this question from Trump's 1st term? Trump has already shown that his economic policy keeps prices down "despite the presence of tariffs". I've already witnessed it happen! Here's how it works:

First, Trump will implement a domestic energy policy that increases oil production, adds more pipelines, lessens exports to the EU, and etc. This change in energy policy will quickly lead to lower domestic oil/gas prices. In addition to this, Trump will remove sanctions against Russia and once again allow them to sell their oil/LNG into the "Western" market.

Then, the US Dollar will climb in value against other currencies, which will weaken BRICS. In an attempt to offset tariffs, China and the EU will both attempt to devalue their currencies. The value of the dollar will increase while the value of the other currencies will decrease. That ultimately means cheaper imports despite the presence of tariffs. WIN WIN WIN!!!!! I "grow tired" of all the WINNING!!!!

In a nutshell, the Biden policy of: 1) "print money", 2) raise energy costs, and 3) lower value of dollar [INFLATION] is going to be replaced by the Trump policy of: 1) "turn off the printers", 2) lower energy costs, and 3) increase value of dollar [DEFLATION].

Thanks Trump!!! He did it before, and he will do it again!
This will be interesting. I am guessing it will be another Mexican-paid-for wall but I'm also hopeful Trump is able to deliver SOMETHING to his followers in recompense for gifting him the Oval a second time.
Mexico WILL "pay for the wall" AGAIN! In fact, that plan is already in motion. Mexico has already agreed to do their part to stop the unfettered flow of illegal aliens into the USA. Why? Because Trump has already threatened them with tariffs if they refuse to do so. The same is happening with Canada to the north.

Don't you just LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE tariffs??? I sure do!!!

BUT, how will Trump bring the prices of goods DOWN.
See my post #62 that I just made to you, which answers your question.
The inflation rate is currently running at about the same level as when Trump was in office last time. It isn't bad at all.
This is an outright LIE. Inflation during Biden's entire term has been higher than it ever was during Trump's entire term.
What the real problem is that the prices are still high.

How ill the tariffs lower the prices?
In short, you didn't learn from Trump's first term in which prices of goods DID come down and the "official inflation rate" was much lower than it was during any point of Biden's term.

The very same people also did the very same stupid screaming about "tariffs will increase inflation!!!!" back at the beginning of Trump's first term, yet their irrational fears never actually happened in reality. You are not learning from history. You are simply repeating it without giving any thought to it.

This is an easy prediction, we are going to have double digit inflation for the first time in nearly 50 years. It may be in a year, or it may be in three years, all dependent on how fast trump moves.

trump has already planned how to block any fighting this inflation, and he is not known for his ability to work hard and sacrifice, so there is no real way to end this inflation. What Biden made look easy, trump is going to make look impossible.

None of your laughably ignorant nonsense ever ages well. This too will not. You should take up a hobby more on par with your IQ, quilting?

C'mon Dimlight... you can do much better than THAT....... Right??

Nevermind....

:pussyhat:

Your posts simply aren't worth any real effort to respond to. Your points are almost always devoid of any real thought or content. You are amazingly boring as are all your socks that speak and post exactly like you do.

  • According to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, inflation peaked in 2022 at 9.1% year-over-year, which is the highest rate in 40 years. Hey @Walt ...go take a laxative.

And double digit inflation would be higher than 9.1%, so would be the highest in nearly 50 years.

When trump reverses everything done to reduce inflation back down to a reasonable place, and combines that with insanely inflationary policies, we will get double digit inflation.

Let's see how it plays out.
I think you are way way wrong.

I might be, but fighting inflation takes hard work and sacrifice, and trump does not have hard work or sacrifice in him. And that is just his problems with fighting inflation. His policies are highly inflationary.

I hope we only have double digit inflation.

I've heard enough of your pessimism, closed mindedness and ill will.
