We haven't heard much about the War on Christmas this year....

It seems to me the Religous wacks are taking a backseat lately. They were ridiculed a lot last year for the silly claims. It could also be that there is plenty for the media to focus on this year without hyping the war on Christmas, like the Penn State story.

Maybe it's time to change that... We need a good War on Christmas thread.

Last year Walmart had a Hannukah page, a Kwanzaa page, but neglected to offer a Christmas page... I wonder if they plan on that again. We need something to get the fire burning...

:D

We're all just secretly terrified about new years, no time to worry about what to call Dec 25

Incidentally I'm a declared atheist and I STILL say merry christmas

what's up with that?

just to keep things on an even keel, what is up with a national christmas tree...first amendment and all

i think the main reason is that the economy cannot stand not having a christmas

besides until the romans screwed around with the calender, christmas used to be on the winter solstice (now 21 Dec)

so instead i wish everyone a merry non-denominational gift giving season

The tanks and anti-elf missles have rolled in to our town so I don't know what you're talking about. The war in Christmas is alive and well here. :-)

I heard Obama got a new Democratic Christmas tree to replace the Republican one.

Funny to watch the lefties mock and deny there is a war on Christmas. Hell, there is a war on traditional Christian American culture and there has been for a while. They're stupid if they think by mocking it we are just gonna ignore it.

I think O'Reilly was the only one who ever talked about it. He has been pretty obsessed w/ it, actually.

I don't watch anymore, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't high on his agenda again this year.

So it is only about christians? What a christian idea you have there.

I do hope you realize the christians stole the holiday in order to convert more pagans?

And if someone says "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas", does that really do you any harm or effect your own celebration in any way?

Actually, if there is a war on traditional Christian American culture it is a defensive one. Its just that the "christian" rightwingers want it to go back to the way it was when christianity was the de facto ruling religion. It the last few decades people woke up and realized they didn't have to be browbeaten by religious nutjobs anymore. They realized that "It says it in the Bible" was no longer a rational basis for laws. They realized that, according to the US Constitution, all faiths (and those with no faith) have equal rights. But thats gotta suck for those who want their beliefs to be hailed as true and everyone else as heathens. lol

Happy Holly days encompasses all the Holidays, not just Christmas, I crack up when they attack Happy Holidays, now Seasons Greetings, might be a different story!

You are right, all the traditions they have adopted for Christmas are pagan, it cracks me up! The yule log, the Christmas tree. The candy cane is the only thing truly Christian, well, except for the manger scene and even that is incorrect. The Jehovah Witnesses are the ones who first made me aware of how many Christmas traditions are pagan! I was shocked.

He only went on about it to make money, isn't it ironic. I don't think Jesus would recognize himself if he came back, I have thought that for awhile!
