We lost the first war on drugs.

But THIS TIME it will be fought with GUNS AND BOMBS instead of cops and handcuffs and it will be brought to THEIR homeland instead of ours. The days of playing defense are OVER. This will be an offensive war. BOMBS AWAY>>>>>>>>>>
They will just find another place to grow it.

The Ronald Reagan war on drugs was a failure, we lost.

It cost billions and did not decrease drug trafficking into or within the United States. Why is TACO starting a new one? The same reason Reagan did, its popular with a certain demographic, it helps promote fear and it likely gives him power.
Maybe because the cost of losing was far higher...?

It’s a never ending, perpetual war that can never be “won”.
But if you give up , you have a Portland situation.

If fighting drugs cost, say, $10 billion and the cost to society in crime, death, healthcare, etc., was say, $100 billion then was not fighting the war on drugs worth it?
Fighting drugs Nixon's way cost trillions and poisoned our society. I suggest fighting addiction and treating it like a medical and mental problem.

Like Nixon. Drug wars just a way to violate human rights.

He sure seems to be worried about the safety of the Narco-terrorists killing our children.
I was curious about that. Perhaps he benefits from a lower cost of drugs. Obviously, he does not have children who could be caught up in drugs or the ensuing crime that follows its proliferation in this country.
