It was done to Gore in a way that could pass muster, if you know what I mean. And Gore gave up himself prematurely so it's obvious they would get away with it. Americans in general, even Dems, don't see that instance as a loss of their democratic power.

Now you have a situation rapidly approaching in which Trump is on the verge of stealing democratic power away from the people.

I honestly hope the R's do steal the florida election because it's a lesson that needs to be learned.

America has a long a rich history of denial mechanisms and rationales regarding what might pass muster, if you know what I mean. Seems the lesson was already lost on the public.

I think I get your drift but I don't think you're understanding that what's happening now with Trump is completely different. You really are right on the verge of losing your democratic system. And when that happens, it won't be possible to vote out Trump. Americans should have all become very suspicious when Trump gained control over your supreme court.

I'm suggesting that it's going to take a violent movement by the people to stop Trump now. Hopefully he will need to steal the Florida election so that the case will be proven to the brighter ones at least.
 
It is getting close to where Trump needs a war. Any doubt that he would start one to save himself? I fear for us all. You know Trump does not care about the people.

That's a very interesting question. It seems that all presidents need to have their war and it's a pattern that goes back farther than I remember or have been paying attention. But! What country is it that the US can get away with starting a war. Venezuela comes to mind as one of the best possibilities but even that is a longshot now. Russia and China have amply demonstrated that they both have interests in Venezuela.

And so, times have changed! For example, I would suggest that Iran is not on the table now. It's too late because the window of opportunity for the US that was opened with the fall of the Soviet Union, has now been slammed shut!

The Soviet's/Russia's deterrent which is Nato, is the equivalent of the US's deterrent which is nuclear armed world powers. MAD! mutually assured destruction.

Where is Trump going to find a possibility for his presidential war?

Thanks for taking a shot at the question. I don't think so but I can see a psychopath like Trump taking a gamble on Iran. I can't see it not igniting a third world war that would almost certainly go nuclear. But first Iran thoroughly does the apartheid state over!

North Korea? No, not a chance in my opinion. North Korea is China's and the US still hasn't lost South Korea yet. It will of course in time but through peaceful means that will be South Korea's choice. It's all in China's future sphere of influence. My opinions.

So you think that Trump is now a dictator who can't be overthrown by peaceful means of the ballot box?

Hmmmmm. Who the hell am I to argue with an informed American.

Maybe somebody else on this forum who can rise above being a babbling idiot can give you a good argument? I would sure like to hear one, but I seriously doubt we ever will.
