Weather in the news

A zippy. You have no idea what weather is. Not a fucking clue. You certainly love to bullshit to yourself though. And ah.....it was the Blizzard of 1978. Guess you did not really read what you were googling.
And one more thing ASSHOLE the Blizzard of 77 started on Jan 28th about 12. 30 PM and did not stop till about 3 am the next morning ,
I worked a double because we couldn't leave the plant and the way the phones worked back then to call my wife I had to use a pay phone ( no cell phones back then ) and the operator and it was so bad operators were only taking emergency calls , so when it settled down I got out to my truck and went on my ham radio and got a hold of a friend and had him call my wife to let her know I was okay.
I know what bad weather is like and you are an ASSHOLE

Calm down, ma'am.

Well I am not going to take insults from some ASSHOLE who doesn't know what he is talking about . And when he says I don't know what bad weather is like He never lived in this area , 3 foot of snow over night is just the run of the mill no big thing. Thanks for the links.

Calm down, ma'am.

You don't know where he's lived.

If he told you, you still wouldn't know for sure, would you? Unless you accept what people say on the Interwebs at face value, that is.

Maybe people should Google before they post, eh?

First of all it is SIR not Ma'am.
And I really don't give a dang where he lives.
very few places have winters as bad as ours can be.
In the last 8 years we have had at least 7 or 8 snow falls of over 7 feet in a day to a day and a half.

So you say.

You sure seemed to "give a dang where he lives" earlier. My mistake, I guess.

Calm down, think before you post, don't take anyone's word for what they say on the Interwebs, and Google stuff before you state it as fact.

That is all. And it applies to all.

Another Nothingburger Chef ' thread' dissolves into fluff and self-ridicule.

Haw, haw..........................................haw.

Did you know?

29 (58% of) U.S. states set their “all-time” December high temperature records >50 years ago.

Of those, 23 (46%) of them were set either in or before 1955.

All but four states set their December records before the year 2000.

I read today that glaciers have been in retreat for more than 20,000 years, and that during most of that time, they melted at a faster rate than they are today, and that for much of this planet’s history, there was no polar ice.

The last two weeks have marked the coldest start to December since 2010 for many localities east of the Mississippi River, resultant from a +PNA / -EPO (west coast ridge) jet stream configuration.

After another bout of cold air rotates through the east this weekend, it will exit the east coast by Christmas and the pattern will undergo a drastic change for the next 2-3 weeks.

As a result of the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) moving into phase six, a Pacific Jet Extension (PJE) and +EPO (i.e., Alaska trough regime) will result and advect mild Pacific air into North America around Christmas / just after and deplete the pool of cold air.

By the end of January, the 3 biggest countries in the world - together with 40% of the world's people and 50% of the emissions - will all be on a growing emissions path.

Nothing new for the Buffalo area.
YEP we just dig out and go on.
Doesn't matter it can be 1 foot or 8 foot of snow we dig out and go on and I have done it many of times.
like I said , in the Blizzard of 77 where we had drifts of over 24 or 25 feet. 5 or 6 feet OVER the top of a telephone pole.
We just dug out and went on.
Living in this area I can say snow is no big thing we dig out and go on . tomorrow is just another day.
Now Hurricanes and tornadoes there is some thing to deal with.
And I have to say we have never had as many Tornadoes in this area as we did this year. 1 every 4 or 5 years was normal and now WTF is happening ?
Something like 26 this year,
