Remember that other Congressman from New York who sent a shirtless picture? Man, that seems lame and tame. He had to do something spectacular to overwhelm it. My guess is he thought it was a contest and the Democrats had to win.
 
If it had been a Republican, you would have heard, Congressman Weiner abruptly resigned today, amid rumors there might be a photo of him.... This would have happened BEFORE the Tweet became public even! But with a Democrat... hell, all they need is for a rightie to make a big deal out of this, and then they can rally around Weiner as their martyr and make him a fucking cult hero! It's how they roll!
 
Watch and see... by next month, Weiner will be viewed as some kind of victim of right wing dirty tricks, unfairly persecuted by Republicans who just had it in for him... poor guy didn't do anything wrong except care about the people.... and here these righties are, trying to destroy a good man.... with another SEX scandal... just like they did Bill Clinton.... they are obsessed with Weiner's sex life... that's all this is about.... thwarting the voice of his constituents... subverting democracy.... YEP...it's coming, mark my words!

I am a liberal and I never called for Chris Lee to resign, and he was the rep from an adjacent district, so his votes matter to my area.

Just as folks say they "misspoke" when referring to something they shouldn't have said we can say Weiner "misshot" a photo.

Then I'll go on record for the second time....Weiner should be FIRED if he won't resign......and if his wife didn't look like a mare, she'd kick his ass out too.....
but being a realistic guy, neither will happen....as a matter of fact, Dixies scenario is more likely, and the pinheads will be gunning for Breitbart....

The double standard is alive and well......

I think he should resign at the very LEAST, and possibly even face criminal charges for falsely reporting this as a "hack" attempt. I guess, at this point, you couldn't really charge him with lying to the media about it, but I think the media needs to do its job and press the issue. If he maintains he was hacked, the FBI needs to get involved and confirm whether that was the case or not. Come clean Weiner... either you sent this or you were hacked... your constituents deserve to know the truth.

That's not what he claims though... he says he was hacked. That's a serious charge and a serious situation, if true. I think we need to investigate and find out for sure, we don't want to have Congress vulnerable to this sort of thing, do we? If he's lying to cover his perverted ass, then he needs to be censured or he needs to resign, simple as that. If he had come out in the beginning and said; Ooops... my bad... sorry folks! Then I wouldn't have any problem with him remaining in office and allowing the people of his district decide his fate, but I believe he LIED about it, and that's unacceptable. I don't like being LIED to by Congressional members, it's just not a cool thing to be doing.
 
He no longer claims that. He said in his press conference that he tweeted it, that it was him in the picture, that he panicked and lied about "hacking" and later lied about "pranking"...

So, it was him, he isn't reporting the crime (never did), and isn't going to.
 
My guess is, he was trying to protect himself for a mayoral run but now realizes that it is doomed.

Well good, I am glad he fessed up, that just might save his bacon.... and the mayor thing, I think he's done there... but the pinheads of NY have a way of forgiving and forgetting... look at Charlie Rangel. :dunno:
